I think that it would be easier and cheaper for Russia to buy off those regimes than to use manpower, that it doesn't have, to occupy them.

Russia is on a Total War Footing, its economy and its military industrial complex. It can produce more weapons than the Ukraine or its backers in the West who are not on a War-Footing’.


Since January 2022, Western nations have pledged more than $380 billion in aid to Ukraine, including nearly $118 billion in direct military aid to Ukraine from individual countries.


The USA has given Ukraine $42 billion, then took another six months to send $60 billion. In terms of a war like the Ukrainian Russian War, State on State, it will stem the tide yet the mathematics are not in Ukraines favour.


Also, the mathematics in regard to fighting manpower are not in Ukraines favour. Ukraine has a population of 38 million (UK 68 million). The roughly one million men who serve in Ukraine's army are battered and exhausted. Many soldiers have been on combat duty for two years. Tens of thousands have been lost to death or serious injury.


Russia has 1.5 million soldiers and 2 million reservists, and a population of 144 million. Russia has lot an estimated 50,000 dead and 350,000 casualties overall. Yet, obviously this displays that Putin/Russia is willing to pay that price.


There is only one way Ukraine could win the war, and that would be Western Nations becoming economically in Total-War, producing more shells etc, and the NATO manpower, and that would be close to WWIII, if not it.

If Russia wants to protect russian minorities in the Baltics or elsewhere, it is very easy. Just take them back and accomodate them at home, when they get kicked out or decide to leave. Nobody is forcing them to stay where they are.
