UKIP have only ever had 1 MP in parliament at any given time out of a possible 650, which means in the 2015 General Election even though UKIP had 624 candidates contesting 650 seats, they were only able to secure 0.15% of parliamentary seats , which is a party failure rate of: 99.8% .....your idiotic "4 million votes" just shows you don't understand the difference between a Referendum and a General Election.

Nigel Farage then went on and lost UKIP's only parliamentary seat even though he was the glorious leader of UKIP.

And, UKIP's sole remaining MP, Douglas Carswell, left the party in March 2017, and told Sky News’ Adam Boulton that there was “no point” to the party any longer.

One group, led by former Tory minister Nick Boles and Labour MP Yvette Cooper, is said to be attempting to block the possibility of the UK leaving the EU without an agreement about a future relationship.

May I refer you to the EU Withdrawal Bill, amendment 19 (Meaningful vote) tabled by Viscount Hailsham:

A new clause which says that Parliament must approve the withdrawal agreement and transitional measures in an act of Parliament and – if possible – before the European Parliament has debated and voted on this.
The clause also sets out specific deadlines for the Government for agreeing – and legislating for – the withdrawal agreement with the EU. If the Government does not meet those deadlines, the amendment says that it "must follow any direction" approved by a resolution in the House of Commons and considered in the House of Lords. This gives the Commons – not the Lords – the power to decide the next steps for the Government.

Both Houses accepted the Government’s amendment in lieu which setsout how Parliament will approve the withdrawal agreement and that, if it does not approve, a minister will make a statement setting out how the Government “proposes to proceed” within 28 days.


In addition, the Government accepted that the Commons would have a vote on a motion ‘in neutral terms’ to consider this ministerial statement. It would also have a vote on a motion ‘in neutral terms’ to consider a ministerial statement if no deal is reached with the EU by 21 January 2019.


The big debate was whether this motion was amendable because a motion ‘in neutral terms’ is not amendable. To avoid a defeat in the Commons, the Government published a written statement confirming that it is the role of the Speaker to determine whether it is or not.

Legislation can be made in hours (as the French have already done) to support continued cooperation for basic commodities; we pay good money for the food and the EU (as well as the rest of the world) want to sell it to us.

I did answer the question, with a direct quote from the government who allowed the Speaker to make a judgement on this in order to get the A50 negotiations underway in the first place.

It is the clerk's job to provide unbiased, objective answers to MPs questions.

Nothing treacherous, nothing wrong, just pissing off a sulking government that's all.
