It seems the cheese-eating surrender monkeys have rules about these things.

France's electoral commission has ordered media not to publish contents of Emmanuel Macron's leaked campaign emails to avoid influencing the election.

It warned news outlets in France that journalists could face criminal charges for publishing or republishing the material, under laws that came into effect at midnight forbidding any commentary liable to affect the presidential race.

And as for the russkies, given that they funded Le Pen, why wouldn't they have another go, it worked last time.

A huge leak of emails from Emmanuel Macron’s campaign team may have been orchestrated by the same group behind the Democratic National Committee leak, analysts say.

Code within a cache of up to 9GB of data and documents posted on an anonymous filesharing website was partly written in Russian, despite apparent efforts to delete metadata.

Vitali Kremez, director of research with US-based cyber intelligence firm Flashpoint, said his analysis indicated that APT 28, a group tied to Russia’s GRU military intelligence directorate, was behind the leak.

^ Looks like the leak is too late to make much difference.

I'm sure the leaks about LePen and Russian funding a couple of years ago can be brought back to life to show how poisonous the bitch is.

Macron represents the Established order and will win. No need to get excited over Marine. She is not the Establishment posing as the "Anti establishment" that Trump is. Trump was only meant to be the establishment's plan B if Hillary lost to Bernie.

Thank goodness the French have voted with thought and not emotion.

    Congratulations to M. Macron.

Looks like the US and the UK could learn a thing or two from the French about how to conduct a poll. First and second round polls were pretty good with 60/40 looking like being the advantage.

She lost against an unknown who only started his party last year and is critical of the French 35 hour week. With low voter turnout, that has to be the best chance she will ever have.

    Le Pen is history.

I wouldn't call reaching the second round by getting more votes than the 2 established parties in France history. But if we want to use your logic are you suggesting the 2 main parties in France are now history?

Put simply, that isn't my logic, it's your misguided inference.

Why 60 % of the voters fell for it is a sad indictment of French thinking .
No doubt the media played a big part branding Le pen as right wing and Marcon as NEW at every chance.

For example in round 1 Le Pen only got 5% of the vote in Paris , amazing, and that after many Muslim terror attacks there..

If you believe that Le Pen is history then id strongly suggest that it is you who is misguided. You are seriously giving a woman no credit who got more votes than the candidates from the 2 mainstream parties in France. Oh well carry on in your deluded Euro bubble.

Idiot. Nigel Farage would never have got anywhere near 10 Downing Street but he's still the most influential politician of the past decade.

    Le Pen will go on.

Glad to see that common sense prevailed over ignorance. Hopefully England will vote with common sense and boot the Tories out in May.

    Not a chance.
European stupidity is concentrated to England so the voters will elect the party that has set them back so much over the last 7 years.

I don't know much at all about French politics.

    I wish I knew a little more.

Can somebody summarize the views of both candidates in an objective way?

Le Pen represents a party that was founded by a small group of French elititists who collaborated with the Nazis during the Second World War. Macron represents everybody else.

Hopefully this marks the high point of Neo Nazi support and likewise the Tories will also be rejected by the voters in the British Isles.
