Racist jibes delivered by stumbling fools aside.

Obama will be remembered as a brilliant man, perhaps the smartest president to ever occupy the White House. He will be remembered as the guy who dug the country out of an economic catastrophe presided over by George Bush and the Republican Party. He will be remembered as a president who was not able to affect change on a number of critical issues because of an obstructionist congress dominated by Tea Party zealots.

I was watching him a few minutes ago commenting on Trumps recent musings.

He is one very smart fucker who really thinks things through.

    Quite brilliant really.

Does it not occur to your prawn-like intellect that there may be people in the Cuban regime frightened of the consequences of normalising relations with the US?
And what's your opinion of the racial jab?

    You didn't mention it.

BO is an intelligent man. And even though the ACA has flaws and needs to be tweaked and fine-tuned, any health care system would have to have been tweaked. The ACA is still in its infancy. This is one of the good things from BO, IMO.

Other things, many things, were the same business as usual things he continued from his predecessors.

    This is a little weird:

Crude and counter-productive. It will have been laughed off like most of your posts.

He will be remembered as being way smarter than his opposition.
Kindly do not take this as a compliment.

he'll be remembered as a better political tactician than any of his foes. no, he didn't get everything he wanted, but he got a lot more than people expected.

and let's not forget that even though it's april of his final year in office, he's still incredibly relevant to the political conversation. i can't think of another president in recent memory who was still such a factor in his eighth year.

now as to his accomplishments and legacy....

    • bringing the US economy back from the brink of collapse
    • getting significant health care reform passed (yeah, yeah, i know it's not perfect)
    • removing most US troops from iraq
    • ending DADT
    • saving the US auto industry--don't underestimate the importance of this, and or who wanted to let it go under.
    • pushing through the iran nuclear deal
    • keeping the country safe from large scale terrorist attacks
    • legalizing same sex marriage

and what's most impressive is that he did all this with the opposition fighting him at every turn---even when they agreed with his position.

not to mention the overt and covert racism he encountered from many quarters.

as far as i'm concerned, the only thing he still needs to do is close the national disgrace known as guantanamo....but once again the opposition stands in his way despite knowing it's the right thing to do.

history will remember the 44th president as an exceedingly smart and highly competent holder of the office.
