One wonders what "equipment" was given, in what amounts and when. Presumably yesterdays massive airdrop will be the last. Until they say sorry, after standing in the corner for a day or so.Quote:

Including when committing war crimes, which can be laid at the feet of anyone, including heads of government who knowingly promote , finance, support and advise all such acts?Quote:

The Russians were invited into Syria by the government to help put down an armed rebellion by rebels armed and backed by a foreign power.
They now have to deal with ISIS as well as the rebels and their backer.
The CIA has now been ordered by their president to stop giving arms to factions of the rebels but they are very likely to continue supplying weapons through a third party, Pakistan or Saudi.
^yes, yes, but let's get back to realpolitik...the Kurds in the north and northwest will get all the US weaponry and advisors they need...the Saudis will continue to arm and otherwise support their favored groups if only to keep their influence alive...
Hard to know what the truth is with claims and counter claims but it does seem that the Kurds are doing as much or more than others in fighting ISIS.
It would be a master stroke if Syria were to do a deal with the Kurds to give them a homeland or an autonomous region within Syria in return for their support against ISIS and the rebels.
...^never happen...

"Hezbollah fighters have finally driven Islamist terrorists from the mountain region of Aarsal in Lebanon, on the border with Syria.
Al-Nusra militants began attacking the town of Aarsal and surrounding areas when the Syrian war began six years ago and have committed dozens of terrorist attacks. Lebanese security forces were targeted by Islamists from al-Nusa and Daesh in August 2014, when the terrorists attacked checkpoints after security forces arrested an al-Nusra commander. The militants killed over a dozen soldiers and policemen in the ensuing fighting.
Since then, Lebanese security forces have been aided by the Shiite militia group Hezbollah, best known for its ongoing conflict with neighboring Israel, in the fight to rid the region of terrorists. In late July, they reported that 90 percent of the Aarsal region has been cleared of terrorists."

The West might hardly believe it, but it now seems the Syrian war is ending – and Assad is the victor
Robert Fisk
While we’re all waiting for Trump to start World War Three, we’ve not spotted that the military map of the Middle East has substantially, bloodily changed. It will be years before Syria and Iraq (and Yemen) are rebuilt – and the Israelis may have to go to Putin to clear up the mess they’re now in

It seems Fisk is still reporting from hotel poolsides as usual.
Assad was safe the minute Putin backed him.

Syrian government was behind April sarin gas attack, UN says | The IndependentQuote:
Syrian forces have used chemical weapons more than two dozen times during the country’s civil war, said UN war crimes investigators, including in the deadly attack that led to US air strikes on government planes.
In the most conclusive findings to date from investigations into chemical weapons attacks during the conflict, the UN Commission of Inquiry on Syria says a government warplane dropped sarin on Khan Sheikhoun in Idlib province in April, killing more than 80 civilians.
“Government forces continued the pattern of using chemical weapons against civilians in opposition-held areas. In the gravest incident, the Syrian air force used sarin in Khan Sheikhoun, Idlib, killing dozens, the majority of whom were women and children,” the report said on Wednesday, declaring it a war crime.
I just looked up what it does :
Within seconds of exposure to sarin gas (or liquid, which evaporates easily), we start to notice the immediate effects of acetylcholine buildup. First, our smooth muscles and secretions go crazy. The nerves to those areas keep firing, keep telling them to go. The nose runs, the eyes cry, the mouth drools and vomits, and bowels and bladder evacuate themselves. It is not a dignified state.
Since sarin has no smell or taste, the person may very well have no idea what's going on. Their chest tightens, vision blurs. If the exposure was great enough, that can progress to convulsions, paralysis, and death within 1 to 10 minutes.
If the exposure was not enough to kill them, though, the person should recover pretty quickly and completely. It is not the sort of agent that leaves people blind and infertile and glowing green. The U.S. military also has a lotion that can be applied immediately after exposure, Reactive Skin Decontamination Lotion, to good effect, among other antidotes. Most people exposed to sarin do not die. A large exposure is not a death sentence.

Those in the Israeli political right who claimed that Assad was a greater danger than Isis may have to think again – not least because Assad may be the man they’ll have to talk to if they want to keep their northern border safe.
Assad is totally cowed by Israel...the real danger to the Zionist entity is from ISIS-inspired attacks launched by Palestinian fanatics and those from Iran-supplied Hezbollah in Southern Lebanon...Quote:

^Is there room for another? Seems to me there are many who deserve that fate prior to his being "nailed".
He is defending his country in the only way he sees as being effective. He has seen other countries invaded on lies and believes if his country does not have a deterrent it will be invaded in the same way by the same aggressor.
What is happening is only reinforcing this belief, continual threats, sanctions and shows of force are only counter-productive they only make him more determined.
He has Nukes and missiles, that will not change, accept it, let him have them and take away any reason he may ever have to use them.
^The DPRK thread no?
it appears that the Syrian forces have crossed the Euphrates and builds a bridge to enable more and heavier forces to assist those who are already east of the river. Russian language.
