I've got a sister-in-law who works for some Thai government environmental agency thing, she's done some research on the state of Pattaya... I could probably get you some interesting photos of the local sanitation systems, "beach burgers", and seaside sewage, but you might want to wash your eyeballs afterwards.

You might be interested to know about the contents of ballast water dropped into Pattaya bay from ships from the adjacent ports as well... some loverly stuff in that... not all of it "organic" by any means.
The whole OP does rather prompt the question: how many thimblefuls of water from a freshly-used toilet (that someone else shat in) would it take for someone to pour into your bathwater before you refused to get in?

it reminds me of a job I once had as a lad in the dales, we used to get rotten manky egg on pallets of trays or bags of semi-frozen malange, full of all sorts of congealed sticky golden lumps and paler runny bits, maybe some ice, shell, hair, insects, dead chicks, dead mice, bits of plastic, cardboard, and paper, all sorts... out is slopped onto the concrete... drained, scooped, sweeped, sprayed, and shovelled into channels and through about 6 different filtering, treating, and boiling processes, and out it popped the other end as omlette mix... tapped off into polythene bags inside buckets, and stacked and wrapped on pallets... it was about 70% good egg, and 30% cleaned shit... but that's legally fit for human consumption... and off it goes to cheaper Italian pasta makers to go into readymeals and industrial food purveyors in various institutions - aeroplane food, is a possibility.

Point is... there is such a thing as "clean dirt"... clean sewage... whatever's legally clean, can be reported as 100% shiny new clean... but I suppose everything's chemicals at the end of the day, so i don't really matter if you swallow a little bit of someone else's cum or poo when you're paddling in pattaya

Pattaya beach is not the only place in the world where boats are passing by. Regardless of how dirty you think the the sewage water on the boats are.

The only place where i seen un treated sewage was the trains in eastern Europe. You could see the railway ties through the bottom of the toilet.
