Jomtien Nivate Man attacked by dog again

Fierce Dog Attack on German Resident in Jomtien

Mr. Reinhard Richard Buhrig, aged 70, from Germany is a resident in Pattaya and has been here for many years at Jomtien Nivate Village, Thappraya Road.

He has been having continuous problems with a neighbour’s dog in the village; indeed he has been bitten by this dog twice already.
One night, while he was walking out of the village, he passed this neighbour’s house and again the dog which was running around with no muzzle rushed at him and mauled and bit him 5 times, leaving the man seriously injured.
Mr. Buhrig stated that the dog’s owner had paid him compensation for the previous incident and stated that the dog would be muzzled and chained, but they didn’t keep their promise.
The man’s shirt and trousers – even his hat that fell off while he was trying to escape from the attack were covered in blood.
The Sawang Rescuers quickly gave him first aid and sent him to the hospital for treatment.

Well yes, but he is a German so I dont think they'd force the poor dog to suffer that much.

You ever tried to get a Thai vet to put down a dog, not much chance of that, my mate lives down at Jomtien Nivate and his wife was attacked by a dog down there, he was going to poison them all, suppose he must have missed that one.

I remember when my neighbours dog attacked my girlfriends fluffy dog for the third time, she was out at the back on the wasteland chasing it gun in hand, so Thais get annoyed about this sort of stuff aswell

I always laugh at the terminology.."put down" or "destroyed" etc.Why don't people say that the offending dog was "put to death" or "killed" or "Murdered"...

I doubt it, they'd need to be dragged kicking and screaming from 3rd world mentality.

    I agree.
It varies between regions. There aren't any biting and attacking dogs in our village nor the next.
Haven't come across any unruly dogs since I moved up here, come to think of it.

^ For all we know the nutty ones might be getting shipped off to Sakhorn Nakhorn (?) and put in the pot. Considering the sheer volume of dogs kicking around, its not very often I see a dangerous looking one.

Thai have a different idea about dog bites, they figure that you should be able to kill the dog with your big knife before he can bite you, and if you can't then there got to be something wrong with you.
They seem to feel the same if a dog is molesting your place or your stuff, if you don't like it, kill the bastard, I do and I get along alright with my neighbors..
I feel the same, if my dog comes over to your house and bothers you, kill the bastard, I have a fence so my dogs should not ever be over at your house, but Thai do not believe in interfering with the dogs freedom or starvation.

Wish the same had happened to my first (English) wife, when in a drunken stupor she attacked me! It would have saved me a small fortune in a divorce settlement.

Forget about taking a shovel to the dog, he should use it on the neighbor. When the dog has had it's fill after eating its master, then use the shovel on the dog.

That is called euphemism. I agree that mean dogs need to be killed, put to death and put out of our misery. There is one way up north that threatens me every time come and go from our place. So far he has not committed suicide (bitten me). I am working on him with a treat each time. Maybe he just hates farang. I am the only one around there though, probably the first he has seen. Maybe I look delicious.

I believe that you have the right to have the police kill the dog and take it's head to the vets check for rabies
