Outstanding day today. How can anyone complain? it was busy as hell but lots going on keeping me busy. Retirement life is.....GREAT.

Did my 4 dog run in the early AM and then road on my mountain bike to get me a double shot Mocha coffee. This place fresh presses the coffee. Such a good taste.

Had a palm that needed to split out to 3. I have these growing around my pool bar area.

With all the rain, the saline level drops as it dilutes and the pool drains so I drop a bag of salt in and all back to normal. Water temp still very nice.

Wife and her GF headed into Lampang city to pick up some Durian that they ordered and some other supplies. While I hate the shit, They all love it.

With a short break in the storm, I pulled out the RVF and fired it up to keep the battery charged and rode to get some 95. With my ATV now, I do not ride it much. I should sell it but I like having it around to ride on winter days in the mountains

I decided today was Margarita Monday while I watched the SF Giants play and I worked around the place, however after I pulled out this Rey Sol from my reserve cabinet and enjoyed a pour, Its a waste to mix it. So I enjoyed it straight up.

After riding and having various vids go sideways because my GoPro is being smacked by Bamboo and other shrubs, I decided to get out my flexible GoPro set up and mount in the center. I was going to go test late today but the rain just started pouring and I didn't want to gear up for a ride. The Wang river is up 3 meters today.

Just another day living life here having fun.

Its crazy green right now and I love it. Problem is keeping it all under control.

A quick front lawn mow above before the big storm sets in and my neighbors have about 10 or so free ranging chickens and they have been flying into our yard. Well Judy my chocolate lab makes short work of them. I just toss them in the trash bin and let the neighbors figure out why they are short a few

Pouring rain relentlessly here. Suiting up for a mountain ride.

One thing that I have found interesting is days go fast and so do the nights. Seems like I close my eyes and I hear roosters crowing at 5:30. Sad part is that means my life odometer is zipping right along.

Wife and I just did one of those comprehensive med check on Saturday. Waiting for lab results for blood. Physical aspect all looks good for both of us. I showed the doc my health tracking which my Samsung watch tracks and she was quite impressed and knows I am aware. That said no matter the blood test lab results I will live my life as I have. My wife and I have an agreement, its our choice. My wife can do what she wants and she will let me do it how I want. I am not signing up to that Medicine daily regiment. F Dat.

    Cheers

Yeah the ole odometer seems to kick in when you are not expecting it . I'm 61 that's not old but ya never know. I have a will and my bro has a copy and can help her should I suddenly pop my clogs. Just yesterday I was thinking about pre paying a cremation. Kind of morbid thought but that's what the my mum and dad done and let me tell you how much less stressful that made things . I would like to make things as stress less as possible for her and my kids. She can't difficult decisions whatsoever so it would likely be left up to my oldest boy. Still got a ton of years hopefully
    My motto. Adventure before dementia.

It's all about peace of mind as well BLD.

You feel better for getting everything sorted, organised so that it's all as stress free as possible.

Like you say probably another couple of decades on the clock yet.

I've been merging pensions and naming my 3 kids as sole beneficiaries this past couple of day among other things.

I've also compiled a "to do list" with all relevant paperwork for them just incase I pop of this mortal coil.

Yeah it's morbid but it's a necessary evil and the responsible thing to do, jeez when did life get so serious.

It's like the fokin' north Atlantic here. Gray and wet and miserable all fudging day.

There's quite a sense of pride in having yer kids setup for whatever life they want when the inevitable happens. Though hopefully not before it's due.

Especially when you're done a fantastic job of raising 'em.

    A couple of decades???

An obese alcoholic in his 60s with health issues whose hobbies are grilling huge chunks of pork belly in his living room while skulling back daily 12 packs after retiring for the day at lunchtime then sleeps strapped and tubed up to some medical contraption? Yer havin' a giraffe mate.

Once I've another 10 years to see the kid through uni I'm alright. Everyday after that will be happily spent the same anyway. Feet up on me tropical verandah drinking ice cold flower tea to the sights and sounds of nature with some social sports, 4 hands oil massages and politely helping and advising people on the internet thrown in while a beautiful young woman cooks me some tasty grub. Zero desire to go or do anything else. Perfectimo.

As You and Joe say, get personal affairs in order while its easy and then you forget about it. I did same for both my daughters and my wife here. Actually for me, it was pretty straight forward being I do not have any physical assets in the US, just an IRA and stock which my daughters are the beneficiaries when I check out. Here my wife gets the funds in our banks plus the house and toys which she can sell. I know the temple where they will properly char me at and all is done.

For now, staying active and enjoying life. There are no do overs.

Yesterday took a ride to a lake I had not been to in awhile to see how it was filling up. Was pouring rain but fun to be out.

On the way I came across big piles of Elephant Dung that was dropped during the night as it was a bit watered down but I did see some big prints on the trail. I thought..."I should bag it up and mail it to Mendy"

The lake was at the top and the run off down was ripping along to a small waterfall. I drove the ATV across the water at the lake area and actually floated the ATV. The water was deeper than I thought.

All good as I got a free ATV wash

Sure is beautiful up here in the mountains and beats the heck of sitting around. The places I ride are way off the beaten path and seldom traveled so there is lots of nature and its peacefully quiet. Rain let up today which is a nice break to let things dry out. The Wang river is filling up and flowing fast now. I have to say even when it rains it is still nice out. The temperature is always 70F plus and never cold.

until those ATVs come screaming through. tearing up the muddy trails, disturbing the wildlife and fouling the air.

sorry stumpy, but if you are so mindful about the nature you are surrounded with then you should be hiking.

find a gravel circuit or private field for your ATV rodeo-ing

Your ego's never at peace, is it?

Feeling challenged and aggravated every day.

Do you think it's because you're a short-stump or does it stem from some other deep sense of inferiority?

Here is the thing Tax. My ATV is about as quiet as a Honda Wave. I do not have a loud exhaust on it. You can hear it the YouTube vids you grumpy old geezer curtain twitcher. I bet you have the police on speed dial. Anyway I do not tear up the terrain. I think you watch too much TV. Additionally many places where the trail ends I take hikes where you can't ride. I only show pictures of where I go. I can add hike pics if you would feel better. Thanks for following along.

    No loud exhaust?

That's a premium safety feature according to TD's Akrapovic aggravators.

A loud bike is a safe bike.

Plus it's more fun. If downshifting doesn't sound like the Battle of Britain you're missing out.

so there is lots of nature and its peacefully quiet.
i am most certainly not a "grumpy old geezer", and if you want to go exploring, red-necking around, testing your latest go-pro clamp or suspension modification before washing all the grease and grime off into the fresh water runoffs in the pristine and unspoiled backwoods of your area in your ATV then you are quite free to do so, but you are disturbing everything you claim to hold dear by doing so in a machine that is certainly far from non polluting or silent.

nature is better seen and appreciated by hiking, than by driving, be it on 4 or on 2 wheels, and i suspect your love is more for the machinery itself, than the places it takes you, there is nothing wrong with that, but if you had as much affinity for nature as you try to convince readers you have, then you would be treating it with a little more respect and consideration.

bikes and ATVs are fun i'm sure, but remote trails are no place for them, (unless you are out there to help someone who broke their leg tripping over a rock!)

if a hiker got stomped by an elephant on one of those trails then it would be a tragedy, if it happened to a biker or someone on an ATV, it would be nature fighting back, and it has every right to do so.

LeoVince exhaust systems. Born in Monticello d'Alba, near Torino, but now a truly international name! Scarcely any other exhaust manufacturer in the world has succeeded in building such a reputation for quality and performance.

Well as I knew was going to eventually happen, there was a serious culling of the neighbors chicken by Judy yesterday after my wife and I left to meet up with friends for dinner. We got home about 7 and I found 3 dead ones on the front lawn and two extra right feet meaning there are few cripples around now.

My wife spoke with the neighbors earlier in the day about their free roaming birds coming into our yard forging for food. She said they didn't see it to be an issue. I said OK. So Judy and her youngest lab sister have off 5 so far plus crippled 2 which I assume cats may have finished them off.
