^I think Cristiano Ronaldo did the "Emiliano Martinez celebration". Lol. The Saudis were so impressed that they gave him a 1-game suspension.

Side note: CR7 was my celeb crush >10 yrs ago. He had great abs & physique (still does). However, I was gutted when a guy friend (who follows football) told me that Ronaldo was gay (or at least bi). I asked, "how can he be gay? He has a GF who's a model?!" Friend said that the GF was a smokescreen. Ugh. Haha - good memories.

^lol. Some of them, yes. I know the universal hand signal for "leave me alone"!

I don't watch much football but I followed some national teams during the last World Cup. Was glad when the Argentinians won. Had to Google why Ronaldo was recently suspended.

These are the ones I've seen on TikTok Katie. A pretty girl on a bike draws up in front of you while waiting at lights, you toot your horn and she gives you a heart sign.

I may try this next time I'm driving through Korat and stuck at lights.

I wonder how many 'hearts' I would have got if I'd honked my horn at this motley bunch?

Are you sure that's not the sign of a penis' head they're making on the school run?

^^ and ^: ahh OK. I don't associate that as a "heart" sign. For me, that's the McDonald's sign - the arches/ the M arch.

The heart sign using 2 hands - you can Google "Angel di Maria heart sign/ celebration". It's what he does when he scores a goal. Accdg to Google, it's to signify his love for his wife and kids. Can't post a pic now.

^ooh, I believe you since it has that hashtag #motogirl and the heart thingy drawn on the screen! It's just that in PH, doing that thing with your arms symbolises McDonald's - they had advertisements abt it (the arches) many years ago.

Do you have a Tiktok account?!

^ I'm with you there, Helge!

My photos get backed up to Google Photos and Google send me emails of 'memories', for example, 'this is what you were doing on this day one year ago, five years ago', etc.

They selected this pic for an email this week, from five years ago. I'd forgotten what a gorgeous little puppy Yogi was. The wife calls him ugly now which I think is unfair.

    This got me reminiscing...

This was Yogi with a brother and two sisters before they went to a new home. I hope they're all OK. Another of his brothers went to to my Welsh mate's wife's sister in Khon Buri and I know that he's still knocking about.

Back in the day, Tommy and Yogi used to be friends...

And I still remember this day. I was having a relax upstairs, watching something on my phone when the young Yogi must have sneaked in and come upstairs, and then jumped up on the bed to have a snooze with me under the fan. He doesn't do stuff like that any more.

It's times like this when you really bond with your dog.

He’s not Anna, but this lil guy passed on to big doggie heaven yesterday. He’d lived a good 14 years, so we farewelled him in the pouring rain.

    RIP Kingston.

    ^ Sorry for your loss.

This thread isn't only for Anna. We can think of her as representative of all dogs of lowly origins. So all street dogs are welcome on this thread, and any others for that matter.

Fourteen is a good age for any dog and you can be comfortable in the knowledge that you gave Kingston a nice end to his life after his owners left.

When Dan (and her brother Den a couple of years before) died, I dug a grave, wrapped Dan in her favourite towel and said a few words before we covered her over. I think that the daughter gained from this and it also taught her about the cycle of life.

I also gave Dan one of MalmoMike's chewy treats to help her on her way to Doggy Heaven.

Like a reverse of the ugly duckling

I always thought you adopted them as adults and which is why theyre so indisciplined, rather than you just treating the soi as a free puppyfarm/ pet shop.

Yep, they already learned about it with their pet dwarf hamsters. But this lesson was a bit tough because I accidentally killed him with them all in the car.

The bigger dog had got out and was running down the street in the pouring rain while we we all out. The guard had rung as to let us know, so we turned the car around and drove back to find to find him. Bundled him in the back, drove him home and dropped him back off. Kingston had wandered over to see what was going on and must have wandered under the back wheel as I drove off. At least it was pretty much instantaneous, he didn’t even cry out.

Wrapped him in a towel and laid him on his bed so the kids and other dog could say goodbye. They were still in the car with engine running and asked is he ok…tough moment.

Must be a horrible feeling running over the family hound. Worse if the kids are in the car. .

Aww. RIP Kingston. It's always terrible to lose a beloved pet.

Kingston looked like one of my family's previous dogs - her name was Arky. She was also black and was roughly the size of a shih tzu. She was a mix of terrier, Pekingese & Japanese spitz.

A dog that my mom gave away as a pup to one of our neighbors also ended that way - ran over by a car. The neighbor (closer to my mom's age) gave the pup to her adult son. The son had an auto repair shop. I don't know the details but pup got ran over - maybe by one of his clients(?).

Our neighbor (the one whom my mom gave the pup to) said that the pup got ill & died. That was when I asked for an update abt the pup. During that time, parvo (virus) was doing the rounds among the local dogs, so I thought he died of parvo. I found out the truth when the aunt of our neighbor let it slip that the pup got ran over. I think they didn't want to hurt our feelings since they knew we (my family) would get sad that the dog died via car accident and not via illness.

On a lighter note, Yogi was cute when he was small!

Given the suffering Anna endured before being saved by Teakdoor's very own Mother Teresa, this is probably the most relevant thread for these two items of news I've just stumbled across:

Children using catapults to kill and torture animals before sharing 'sick' images on WhatsApp | UK News | Sky News

An hour earlier I was reading about a fella hitting his dog with a spade. The footage was awful, but, fortunately, the dog survived and is being rehoused.

    Dafuk is wrong with people?!?!?!?!?!?

^ Yeah, man's war on animals certainly isn't restricted to Thailand.

Thankfully Anna can put whatever horrors she was subjected to behind her now. Looking at this picture the daughter sent me today, Anna's biggest problem now is that her nails need cutting.

I'll attend to that next week.

    Don't laugh, Ed.

I never really paid attention to such things, but presumed Yogi was taken off the street as an adult due to the facial/snout scarring etc.

Who's to blame for that? The wife?

^ No, we took in Yogi as a puppy. I found homes for the rest of his litter but no-one seemed to want Yogi, so he stayed.

I can't blame the wife for his facial scarring... he has regular skirmishes with Tommy and both regularly receive minor flesh wounds. I think that because Yogi has such short fur, the scarring looks worse than it actually is.

Yogi is also a fearless hunter and often dives into thorny lime trees and the like, chasing snakes or cats and often ends up badly scratched. He's also had several close encounters with visiting cats... they come off worse but usually give a good account of themselves.

The wife calls him ugly, but all the girls love him to bits.

It's nice to be home, and back wearing my elasticated camo shorts.

This morning Lola met up with her 'outside' family for the first time in nearly six weeks and all tails were awagging!

And then it was down to business.

Yogi attacked Anna during Friday night. This came out of nowhere as they've always appeared to be good friends. I'm really really pissed off with him as Anna was just starting to join in with the pack activities and this has knocked her confidence and set her back.

I suspect that Yogi was hassling her for a bit of hanky panky and that she'd just had enough and had a go at him, which he returned in spades. A dog scorned and all that. Yogi doesn't really seem to worry if a female is in heat, or not.

I also have to accept that Anna may be a bit cranky and bad tempered... who'd have thunk it, a Thai female difficult to live with?

I'm probably more worried about her mental state after this than her actual wounds, but they needed looking at so it was off to the vets yet again.

We never miss out on the opportunity for a dog selfie.

Anna seemed quite chipper walking about town. Here you can see the worst wound on her chest.

There's never a hint of aggression from Anna, even with strangers. I find that quite remarkable when considering the abuse she's obviously been subjected to during her early years.

And half an hour later, all patched up. She needs a few stitches but the vet wants to leave the wounds open for a couple of days first to ensure there's no infection. The last thing you want to do is close up an infected wound.

    Poor thing.

    Awwww...

I let Anna sit in the front on the way home to cheer her up a bit.

Yogi owes me nearly 1500 Baht and that's before the stitches. I doubt that I'll ever see that again but at least he has the consideration to show some contriteness. Anna and Yogi seem to have made up, although she appears very wary of him and not surprising really.

And a rare display of empathy from Maya? Or maybe she just wants to wind Anna up...
