How do you discover the source of "reputation" points?
Go to "User CP". Click on "User Control Panel". It will show your last five. What posts they were for, from whom, red or green, plus any comments. If you send a red, you must include a comment. If you send a green, comment is optional.
I like "greenies"! Those "reddies" make me depressed - isolated. Recently, I got a rare "reddie" - reputation points down by 1000 points?
Clearly begging for greens under the pretence of wanting to find out how it all works.
Expect more reds.
kingw - you are astute! Wisdom personified.
You are aware that YOU are the culprit. I am reaching for the anti-depressants or the Bundy.
Providing a public score card would provide the appearance of trying to indoctrinate 'newbies' to follow the herd.
Can a person express their own opinion even if it's at odds with the masses ? (ie: personally I like western-style toilets more than squatting.)
I believe that is why some schools post scores so everyone knows who is in and who is out.
No worries. Debating still stands on its own merits if those that read the postings have an open mind with or without agendas.
Even if I don't agree with an opposing POV that was properly built on a foundation of factual information I would give that poster a salute.
Some debates simply are always volatile and have many POV.
As a newbie and not a venture capitalist of this forum it can be run any way the management wishes. After all it's their show as it's their dough.
ps: At first blush it appears to be a decent forum. I'm hoping it is.
Don't go there PC, highly volatile subject matter.Originally Posted by PeeCoffee

If you are red or green it does not matter one jot expect in your mind. Don't take it personally ya big shifter and carry on regardless.
A green for the imaginative nic, I could only come up with 'fohk, what should I call myself?'
Well for f**ks sake - I didn't know.
I ass-umed with all those pimple dots I was on the verge of being banned.
I had read the forum rules prior and could not understand if I had pissed on a fellow member.
Now I understand that the red dots are only for decorative purposes to warn others not to swim against the tide or possibly a badge of courage.
Personally, I do prefer looking at a myriad of colours while straight-jacketed in a white room.
No worries pseudolus, I won't easily get despondent over nothing.
As for being a 'shifter'...possibly are you British ?
Did you actually mean to write sheep shifter ?
Please bring clarity to my mind , kind sir.

Pissing on a fellow member and pissing off a fellow member can result in wildy different outcomes.Originally Posted by PeeCoffee
There is also the option to turn repo off if it upsets you.
