How does this system work? "My "rating" is quite volatile - maybe my posts are too. Purpose?
Honest opinion does not seem to have any influence. A popularity contest?
(I have never used this facility.)

It's a bit of a weird thing where-bye people can express approval, hatred, love, contempt etc about whatever you've posted.

Some folk get really excited about it.

You can disable it completely if you wish.

Basically, follow the herd and greens-a-plenty will come your way!

I am not a "herd" follower. So, I can change my ways (comply with herd), disable the function or get back on the "piss".

I agree with your logic BUT I have been off the "piss" for 31 years - now a wowser (a happy one). Complying with the herd - difficult. (I do comprehend your joke).
Disable - I researched it - cannot discover the technique. 6618 reputation points - is that A, B, C or D? In the red, I have yet to experience that - maybe I should get back on the "piss".

^ click 'user CP' , edit options, and its the 3rd option down. un-tick the box and voila!

Interesting - the "reputation" ratings still apply - they just do not appear on the screen if you disable them - like!
