Chromium electroplating - Bangkok

Can anyone recommend a good place in Bangkok that I can send bike parts to be chromed.

There are two in Phuket, but, they are rubbish. The chrome plating is already bubbling and it hasn't even been a year, yet.

There is one in Map- Ta- Phut that does plating to "medical" spec that I used a few years ago when I was sorting out insurance claims for food processing machinery. Will try to get in touch with my ex secretary who found them !!! 50/50 chance though cos I stopped working a few years ago

They did the "Full Monty" each part was - stripped - pickled- copper plated - nickel base plated and then chrome.

Not cheap but bloody magic ! Was right next to the Thai Epoxy factory as far as I can remember !

Will let you know If or if not I get a result !

I now have contacts for several electro-plating companies in Bangkok.
You can send stuff to them for chromium plating on steel and aluminium.

The Chrome plating itself is probably pretty good but the preperation sounds sub standard, if they haven't made sure to clean it and prep it 100% then you'll get the bubbling and flaking like you have.

This gives you the process in simple terms, see if they'd let you watch them do it.

when i was a kid i used to go to London Chroming on Old Kent road and watch them probably took in all kinds of shit in my young lungs, no HSE bods to worry about then!

It seems like Wati ( my ex sec with enormous and well proportioned 'Lungs" has gone and got married to some lucky bastard ! ) and the replacement hasn't got a f*ucking clue about what files are where !! ( even though I gave her the number )

Thanks SB and will be in touch with them asap. I need to get my triple tree chromed first and will also check with them to see if I can get my wheels polished. Most of my stuff is aluminum and so just polishing should be ok until I get the bread to do ali chroming. More interested in just getting the bike back on the road right now.

That's why it's quite difficult to find a good shop, and that's why there are not so many (of any quality). In Thailand they rather use stainless steel instead of a chromium. Examples: the numerous s/s railings, gates, and fences around the village houses - quite exceptional in a poor country.
