I am referring to the Wildtrak.
You own a Ford dealership (maybe I was supposed to have known this- I didn't)- I myself do not- you can buy it cheaper for that reason- if you can pass along a deal I would be happy to buy it from you- if not, then I guess I'll have to get 'stooged' by another dealer.
I got the list above from the Ford Thailand website.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Again, exchange rates have a lot to do with the purchasing power of vehicles here when comparing similar availablity in ones home country.
I purchased a top of the range Vigo here in 2004 at 861,000 baht at an exchange rate of 72 baht to sterling = 12,000 pounds. (The equivilent 'Invincible' in the UK in 2007 was almost 25,000 pounds). Again, here the resale value when 3 years old was extremely pleasing compared to the UK.
Much the same when i purchased a sporty Yaris for my wife in 2008 when the bahts value was 61 per pound. Less than the cost of a UK equivilent. Not so now however with 50 per pound.
A couple of years ago i was eyeing up a top of the range Camry at a Toyota showroom (waiting for a service completion on the Vigo) and enquired when approached by a salesman why the price of the Camry was 1.6m baht when their top of the range Vigo was around 900,000 baht. I was informed that the price of the Camry was based upon the value of a Mercedes and BMW which were 3M upwards and not necessarily upon manufacturing costs.
Incidently the cost of the same Vigo is now heading toward 1M baht here which is the eqivilent of almost 20,000 pounds. A wee bit different than 7.5 years ago

? I'm confused, they only do 1 engine... You might be ultra kind and call it 'perky', but 'sporty' is taking it a bit far!Originally Posted by Mr Lick
Apples and Oranges, mate. I like the Camry Hybrids, a friend has 2; they're really nice. Not keen on the new Camry though...Originally Posted by Mr Lick

1.2m (or less if Fondles will allow me to use his connections)- I'm gonna buy it anyway (unless I find something I like better)- let me know if you might want to sell a truck, Fondles (send me a PM)- I'm happy either way.
BTW, bb- this is the mirror (it's integral with the back-up camera):

Yes, should have stated 'Sporty looking TRD' apologiesOriginally Posted by Bettyboo

1.5 is a bit pathetic, although they're quite sprightly - my Honda City is a 1.5, and it is enough for city and motorway driving (the kickdown is noticeable, but generally drive around at between 2000-3000 revs), without being much fun to drive.
There's 2 or 3 pedals on the floor.Originally Posted by Bettyboo

I had a Vios for a few days last week while my car was being serviced- it felt like a go-kart because it was so (comparatively) low to the ground but it was geared pretty well for the city- I was pleasantly surprised (I didn't use it on the highway where it might have been a let-down).
^ the City is good on the motorway; cruises along at 130kph very nicely; the kickdown anywhere between 80-120 is there, not GT2esque, but gets past Somchai's 30 year old pick-up...
^ very nice. What colour and where are the bread buns???
That colour and I ate them all.Originally Posted by Bettyboo
My point exactly. Plus it was flooded.Originally Posted by aldogg
Makes no difference as the body is clean, the engine fine with 130,000 miles on it. Serviced with maintenance book every 3,000 miles.
The blue they use for the Wildtrack is too pale. I originally wanted the darker 'Ford' blue on an XLT model, but they couldn't get one for me, so I got this one instead.Originally Posted by Bettyboo
Nice, but why not this colour?

My wife wants one of these Hyundai Tucsons. I think they cost around 1.8 mil. Anybody have any experience with Hyundai in Thailand?
Nope.
I always place Korean cars well below Japanese cars, so in Thailand where the Korean cars are more expensive, I find it very strange.
That Hyundai is under 18,000 pounds in the UK, the CRV starts at 23,000 pounds; very wierd how the markets get turned around here due to import taxes... You can get a top of the range CRV for 1.5 million!
Now, jusding by the Honda Thailand website, looks like the new Civic is just being released; that might be interesting (might not...).
I like the 2 door, chances of it being sold here are close to zero...
