240 baht. including the antibiotics. Went to the closest hospital on googen maps, it certainly didn't end up being the most expensive.

Still not fully healed. :/ The nurses didn't seem to find this a good thing.

New course of antibiotics, amoxiclav 1000g, keeping it wrapped up tight with a decent cleaning everyday.
needs a few more stitches in there. stitches should be 7mm apart on a wound like that. your stitches look to be more than 10mm. but thats what you get when you go to the 240 baht doc.

    Do continue....

It's currently wrapped up super tight with me homemade tourniquet over the padded bandage.

I was stitched closed for one week, and now is the first time open again.

Will take a look for cleaning tomorrow morning.

There isn't a cut off point for getting the stitches done, right. Waiting a few days to see how it heals with the tourniquet and bugger all movement wouldn't mean getting new stitches becomes impossible, if needed, right?

the area between the first 2 stitches is still slightly open, and the distal end of the wound is gaping. both are portals for infection, and when healed will leave scarring. a tightly closed wound will leave little in the way of a scar.

no need to worry unless it starts to swell, go red or dark, stink and produce thick green, grey or yellow pus.

lots of images on google of infected leg wounds.

Just disinfect the wound and superglue it, it's only a small split.

Scars are cool. Already got one on me chin and the side of me noggin from when I should have listened to me mother about not crossing the road.

It healing is the only concern, cheers.

Cheers. I'll undo the the bandaging and clean it with betadine and give it a good look every morning and night. As well as actually taking these antibiotics.
