    If you talking about under 100w lamps then I don't think re-wiring will be necessary.
    The 110v wiring will probably be of heavier gauge to start with.

    if you are talking about an ordinary lamp that takes incandescent light bulbs and others with the same fitting, then as long as you use local 230v bulbs you should be fine. if you use us bulbs they will break

    no problem, but, as said, make sure you use local bulbs
