    Power Tool Rental in Bangkok

Does anyone know of where I may be able to hire power tools in Bangkok?

I'm looking for a belt sander for a little project I'm working on. I would probably only ever use it the once so I don't really want to go and spend over 10,000 baht on one!

I tried the forum search with no luck and with Google I can only find a tool rental company in Phuket.

    Thanks

    nope!

there is a business opportunity for someone

mind you, I bought a belt sander for a project and haven't stopped using it since

really useful tool, so you might as well buy one, not so expensive

I think Maktec are the cheapest good quality, around B4500

I was just thinking the same DrAndy - Defiantly a gap in the market there.

I believe Maktec are made by Makita. I love the Makita tools I have bought.

I'll monitor this thread for a few days to see if anyone knows and if not I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and buy one.

    Cheers

Have you tried that place on Sathorn road? I'm not 100% sure but it looks like a tool hire place.

No mate, any more info on the place (location)? I'll take a ride down on Monday and check it out.

It's roughly around Surrasak station (on the going out the city side of the road). Massive glass windows with loads of blue power tools. They might be new but from the looks of the set up it may be a rental place.

Why not hire a local to do the sanding for you? cheaper than buying a belt sander perhaps? What are you sanding?

    Lets see how this works?

Thai contractors rents tools never comes back.

Thai contractor comes back and gets hit with "you damaged my tools" jet ski rip off.

There is a reason there is a gap in the market.

Solution buy a belt sander. If job is not big enough for that, use elbow grease.
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
I apologize if any offence was caused. unless it was intended.

^^ Job is too big to do by hand, I would do it myself if I could. I could also hire someone to do the work for me but then that would kind of defeat the object of my project.

^ Yes valid points VocalNeal. I thought I would ask just in case anyone knew. I will check out the place FP mentioned and if not I'll just buy one.
