It's manufactured the American way. You can get proper 'Wiltshire Back Bacon' in Macro Buriram or Korat.Originally Posted by piwanoi
IA, I've never been actually involved myself ,but spoke to 3 guys who have and they all sing the same song "Who's sorry now" ,if it was such a good number the local Thai's would be in to it ,the few that have pigs nearly always have just one or two for home consumption
For what it is worth, my experience here leads me to suggest that pig farming can be either muck or money. Most of us become involved either as a funding source for a family enterprise or directly involved running it as a business. Funding alone often yields less than expected simply because the family has little if any experience and look no further than the local village market opportunities. As a business, knowledge of the market and herdmanship are critical as in any livestock enterprise, anywhere.
Even just raising market pigs is a serious commitment of funds and time. Breeding even more so. Pig Farming is not for the faint-hearted hobby farmer but if you are committed then it is personal rewarding despite the often slender margins.
I've shagged quite a few pigs in my time, so I know what I'm talking about...Originally Posted by IsaanAussie

Bastard left none for me! I have to make do with the average looking goats; the good looking ones climb up mountains to avoid sexual abuse!Originally Posted by IsaanAussie
the company i worked for rented a house in northern luzon and the house came with a small piggery out back,(which wasnt fucking ideal) one night i heard the flips castrating the boer( Big fucker with massive bollocks) the idea is it makes the meat tastier, well it didnt work, poor fucker died by the morning,They still chopped it up and sold it though,in the philippines they call that double dead meat.We were on the coast so after that i ate only seafood and chicken, would be a nightmare being a farang pig farmer anywhere in asia i reckon
I am a bit late but i would recommend looking at the pigs 101 thread for some info,
you can make money from it, sure you can, i did and still do
Do i rely on its profit to live? no
if you have no knowledge of the local market, buyers sellers butchers and so on,
and if you have no idea how or why to castrate then do your research and then come me back to this idea,
don't want to come as a twat, which i am but really think about it very well or you could lose, which some people don't mind, but personally i hate losing even
10 bath.
Sorry about me horrible speling
