    Italy win 3-2 on penalties



    Gianluigi Buffon saved three penalties as Italy beat Uruguay to claim third place in the Confederations Cup.

    Davide Astori put Italy ahead when he tapped home on the line before Edinson Cavani equalised with a low effort.

    Alessandro Diamanti restored Italy's lead with a curling free-kick and then Cavani levelled again with a stunning free-kick to ensure extra time.

    Riccardo Montolivo was sent off for two yellow cards in extra time but Italy held on to seal a 3-2 win on penalties.

    Diego Forlan, Martin Caceres and Walter Gargano all missed to hand Italy third spot in Salvador.

    Paul Casey secured his first victory in over two years with a three-shot win in the Irish Open at Carton House.

    The Englishman, who plummeted from third in the world rankings to 169th, fired a superb five-under-par 67 in blustery conditions to finish 14 under.

    Overnight leader Joost Luiten (74) and Robert Rock (71) were second with Pablo Larrazabal (75) fourth on nine under.

    Jose Maria Olazabal was tied for the lead midway through his round but faded to finish joint fifth on eight under.

    Casey claimed the 12th European Tour title of his career in dramatic fashion after overturning a four-shot deficit in the final round.

    Double Olympic champion Mo Farah came through his toughest test of the season to win the men's 5,000m in Birmingham.

    Farah impressively won in 13 minutes 14.24 seconds to end a successful day for Britain at the Diamond League.

Norris was shot in the face in 1997, since that time he has received multiple life-saving and reconstructive surgeries.
