Let's try this:
You have a population of 300 users -- 140 of which are high end graphic artists, who produce the life-blood of your company's main revenue streams. The other 160 are clerical users (copywriters, proofers, managers), and supporting users to the graphic artists.
The artists some standard tools (like CS5) while also using a variety of tools and applications that each prefer; this extends to various plugins and supporting applications for their graphic applications. Fonts are an important criteria of this ecosystem, as are a variety of printers in use in different locations.
Go for it - tell us how you'd handle this.
