Thread: New Computer: How to Install Windows 7 with DVD

Just got home with a new desktop. Bought it without Windows installed and bought a DVD for the Windows, thinking it would be a matter of turning on the computer with the DVD in the drive.

Oops. Have something called FreeDOS and it is sitting at the C: prompt, having said "no drives assigned. SHCDX33A cannot load!"

How do I get Windows onto this computer? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Need to boot from your optical drive. Look closely when it boots up and it will give an "f" key to hit to change boot sequence.
