There were some crackers in there over Xmas/New Year. As usual, when low season arrives, they're on their toes.

Between Suriyawong and Loi Kroh Roads. Between the moat and the river.

Lots of little Thai bars, Karaoke joints, and Knocking shops. It's where the taxi drivers go after they've dropped the punters off at Sayuri or Satar Sick.

Yup, quite a few times. I lived about 300 meters from it, on a soi off Chiang Moi Khao, for three years, it was always handy for a late-night drink and a snack.Originally Posted by Chairman Mao
What, the leftovers? You think that's a recommendation? When was the last time you were on loi kroh? If you fancy the leftovers from there you're either extremely old, extremely short-sighted, or extremely drunk.Originally Posted by Chairman Mao
Why is it incorrect? You like slappers. I don't. It's a matter of taste.
Tuesday? Today? Ah, I see. You're a monger. I'm not. We have different standards. You have a need to defend a place that's generally acknowledged by CM residents as vile but fun, I don't. I'm not going to speculate on why you need to defend it. Almost everybody who comes to CM will visit spicey and make their own conclusions. I've met a lot of people who felt it was a laugh, I think it's a laugh too, you are the first person I've ever known who's got upset about it being a called a den of drunken ho's and tourists. I am bemused. Are you one of this month's shareholders?

You appear to be reading somebody else's posts and attributing them to me B0b.
Perhaps read my posts in the thread.
The women in Spicy are those too ugly, too deranged, or too diseased to be allowed in the bars on Loi KhroWhy is it incorrect?
Because half the girl's who go there work in the bars of LK perhaps?![]()
Do I?
Why? What makes you think I care enough?
Let's face it, the girl's in loi kroh are prostitutes. If half of them end up in spicy that means they can't get a customer in the bars on loi kroh. Why do you think that is?
Whatever. I don't like the place much. You do. Why do you feel the need to defend it so strongly?

a) because it's dead. Why do you think that is?
b) not going LT in order to maximize ST profits while increasing freetime.
c) they're hideous.
What has that got to do with you being incorrect?![]()

I met a beer bar girl in a Loi Kroh bar and her name was Beer (or something similar sounding in thai). Oh how we laughed as she explained the potential confusion when customers say 'I want beer'.
'Do you mean that beer or this beer 55 nudge nudge. etc.'
I was also staying at the Downtown Inn where the Kiwi girl died. Nice place. Didn't get up early enough for the in-house breakfast fortunately.
Remember that English chav fukwit Dave I think his name was, must be going back 5-6 yrs who was beaten to death and thrown in the moat... Fukknob was told in no uncertain terms to leave town by a number of people, so a few days later he decides to break a BG's face with his fist. English Chav scum are always great viewing.![]()
he was thrown out of Johns Place one night for dropping his pants
he apologised profusely the next night then proceeded to get drunk and hassle everyone; he was the warned off for good
If you'll forgive me for asking, if it isn't gossip, then how do you know these details? It would appear that you didn't know Dave or anyone close to him.
Anyway, i can tell you that your version of events is incorrect. Dave's death was accidental as far as anyone can tell.
He was out with friends drinking one night, and was outside Spicy when two girls riding a motorbike drove it into the moat. Dave decided to jump in to help them, and after they had exited the water he jumped back in to retrieve their bike from the bottom of the moat, which i believe he succeeded in doing. He remained swimming around in the water, but then something went wrong and he had to be dragged out.
A friend of his tried to give him CPR on the pavement by the moat but he couldn't be revived.
The guy who did the autopsy said that he thought he most likely died of heart failure. Dave had been living a very unhealthy lifestyle for a few years, he didn't eat very well and he drank way too much. He was drunk at the time of his death, and i guess all that exertion on top of it must have been too much for his heart. Very tragic, he was only 32.
I know it's not as exciting as the gossip, but there we go.
I was sitting outside John's place one night when Dave was walking past on the other side of the road , he was drunk roaring and squealing like a mad man , he stopped opposite John's place and dropped his trousers revealing his backside to everybody , not a pretty site , I asked the girl did she know him , she said he's a bad man and nobody likes him , all the girls had the same opinion of him ,bad man,Ting Tong , I find it very strange that Dave helped any Thai people when they all hated him so much .
Yes , you are correct ,I did'nt know the man , I'm just saying what i seen and heard when i was having a drink at John's place ,Chiang mai is small ,word travels quick among Thai's if there is a problem with a farang , I drink in John's place all the time , cheap drink , cheap food , and iv'e never heard the girls say anything bad about anybody except Dave , I asked big John what the problem was ,he would not say , big John is a quiet man.
Not that small. It seems that you've just chosen a small part of it to live in. There's a whole world that doesn't involve bars, murder, drunks, or prostitutes. Thankfully. "The girls" "big john", "the Moon Mueang stretch", ffs, grow up!Originally Posted by Freedom
