this isn't a photo, but the video was taken w/ the same camera that the photos in this thread were taken with:
the gf sometimes thinks w/ her heart & not with her brain. She bought this sweet little pup, even though we can't have pets in our house.
Luckily she was able to sell it to a friend who could care for the little guy.
^Good quality video for sure. That dog is adorable! Glad you found a home for it, Bustak and gf!
I am in awe of your gift for seeing art in everyday life. Wonderful pictures. Thanks.
Wonderful pics, B
Inspired my Bustak's great thread, I got myself an LX3 the other week. Yesterday I decided to try something a little creative instead of just shooting some family snaps. Here's my first attempt, spiders make great subjects - this one stood still long enough while i fiddled with the camera.
wow, that is a perfect macro of a spider, nice job!
I wanted to snap a photo of the girl in the background, but the gf threw this little guy infront of the camera:
a few dogs relaxing at Wat Suan Dok:
There's no doubting the quality of the pictures.
How do you find using the camera without a view finder? Is it a bit hit and miss?
Are you squaring them up after with photoshop?
Sure it looks good to have odd angles sometimes too, but how do you gauge what's in the shot?
I'm terrible with getting the shot lined up and always use a grid in the viewfinder on my compact.
I find it easier to compose a shot through a LCD screen, that's closer to how it's going to look in print or on the computer screen. I wish my dSLR had a usable live view LCD feature, I would use the viewfinder less.
I do a lot less cropping w/ the LX3 shots than w/ my Canon 450d. Also the LCD comes in handy for hip shots & I love the vertical & horizontal grid on my LX3.
I've never used the viewfinder on my camera in 2.5 years. That's the main thing I like about a digital camera - it has the rear screen to use to size the shot up and it works loads better imo. It even has grid lines to get everything squared up properly.Originally Posted by ItsRobsLife
This one is excellent.
^ thanks.
it's been raining a lot in CM, so last night the gf & I walked over to the local karaoke joint for some bad food, expensive beer & some singing (both listening & performing).
To say the least, we had a really nice time. Here are a few pictures:
it was pretty dead:
Near the end of the night a few people showed up.
Here are a few shots of some of the performers, workers & the general environment of the place:
it was odd, it was a 99.99% Thai place, but they had Creep by Radiohead in the karaoke library!
I have Live View on the 5D
I don't use it at all, it wastes battery I just don't like holding the camera away from me.
took some shots around Chiang Mai Gate today:

You over-sharpened those wires mate. I'd give it up if I were you.
^ that's how it came out of the camera, I thought they looked kind of funky too. Maybe I'll delete that one. Good idea, but came out not so good.
Another that gets me is hearing Zombie by the Cranberries at virtually every Isaan show i've been to.Originally Posted by bustak
