    yeah yeah yeah

I pick frosty sundae with peanuts.

Another day, another day of mud. Drain lines are done. Water lines being installed. Mocked up water tank/pump configuration today. One side of the house will have 2 90 deg.'s the other side will have 3. The best I could do.

    Thanks, JJ, Boozehound.

The clock's ticking down here. They'll probably finish the render before I leave, in a week. Definitely want to be around when they install windows and doors, and frankly, for all the finish out. So this'll probably be about as done as she's gonna be for awhile.

Oh, but good christ I can't wait to see it finished. It's a nice airy space and we've got a lot of good ideas for the finish work.

    As you wish.

    Lookin' out my front door.

Here's Na Nai getting a PVC order ready.

They're rendering the exterior now. This guy lives in a small shack down by the river, but he's got a whole shitload of equipment. Real scaffold? Oh yes.

Kitchen wall looking into the office.

Pretty sure in the old days they called this a "shotgun shack". Fire into one door and out the other. The Mrs. says it's too easy for the ghosts to pass through, so our front steps will lead off to the side.

Bathrooms are still rubble filled shit pits, but should be remedied in the next few days. We will test the water system before we render those walls.

I said nothing about a bum gun, but they ran a line anyway. They must know I'm on TD.

Except for the bathrooms, which have taken an eternity the render is done. Leave town in two days so I'll post the last pics tomorrow.

    What, me worry? 5555

Thanks. Gonna put some of that fieldstone (what we call it) around the lower part of the walls. Maybe some built in flowerboxes, too. Just to urge completion I think they'll keep working while I'm gone. Mrs. DA will email me pics. Should teach her how to post pics here........ or maybe not

Thanks Jet. As you can see it's kind of secluded. Perfect for a hermit such as myself. I postponed departure, so am still in town today, will try to get a few better shots.

Looks like it is all coming together now DA.

Interesting to experience the sound transfer through those super block walls mate. I have never used these blocks, mainly double skin cavity walls and the sound insulation has always been good.

    Keep on keeping on mate.

Really enjoyable thread Deck Ape and the house looks wonderful.

When your nose is back to the grindstone to bring back the hard earned cash, I'm sure the thought of this sight will keep you going.

    Top man!

Cheers, some great input into the thread yourself.

It just goes to show what a stressful and complex issue it is building your dream here, and that a bit of support and encouragement really helps.

Coming to LOS is a life changing experience, building a house here is something else.

    Back in the LOS

Well that's me back for a month. Mrs DA supervised a fair amount of work while I was gone and as the kids say "it doesn't suck". Interior ceiling was hung. Also sidewalk, stairs, and soffits. Done.

So tomorrow will be another session of my favorite hobby- "Homestore Binge Shopping". Interior/ exterior lights, cable, receptacles and maybe a little paint! on the shopping list.

Pics tomorrow. And a word of thanks for all the support and encouragement over the summer.
