...not officially, no...though the Chinese immigrants have certainly taken over in the background with their 20-syllable "Thai" names ("Happiness, Wealth, Pork...Boon"), their preference for "advising", "assisting" and, of course, "benefiting" government officials and the symbiotic relationship with the children of rice farmers is really an unfair match as Thainess is a self-defeating cultural albatross...
