Short-term accommodation for Thai female near BTS Ploenchit?

I have a female friend who lives in Pattaya who will be coming to BKK at the beginning of August to do some training for about 3 weeks before starting a new job. The training will be at the company's head offices not far from BTS Ploenchit on Soi Ruamrudee (or however the hell you want to spell it in English).

No, I don't know why the company is not providing housing for her since they are the ones who asked her to come to BKK. I asked her that and didn't get a clear answer (surprise!).

No, she can't stay with me.

She's a normal working-class girl (think secretary or sales clerk, not bar). So I'm looking for leads on a suitable place near there where she can stay for a few weeks that isn't going to break her budget, but that won't be a pigsty.

Any help you can give would be appreciated. Thanks!

^I doubt an ex-pat forum is going to be much help in looking for short-term accommodations in a Thai boarding house or hostel. Why doesn't she do the obvious and ask the employer who is bringing her up there for leads? I'm sure it won't be the first time they've been asked.

Might be difficult to find a cheap place in that area most working class Thai's commute in on the BTS form Bangna and On Nut.There are rooms in Klong Toey for 1000 baht a month i guess that's her price range.Share toilet pretty small room but lots of takers for them.

Thai female, presumably on a budget. I'd go and check around the area behind the Asia hotel, BTS Rachathewi. Lot's of cheap accommodations in that area, as low as 2500 baht per month for a simple room no ac and shared bath.
Also check in there at the Christian church(same area) as they have a friendly network of Thai people there too.

Going to cost. Better for her live far off and take BTS, or minivan to BTS from suburbs.

There is Gunn House near Soi Thong lo on Sukhumvit 53, but the problem is almost any place is going to want more than a one month contract. Its for women only. 2 minute walk to the Thong Lo stytrain.

I lived there for the first half of last year and have some happy memories.

There are worse places one could live and it's proximity to Tesco Lotus at BTS On Nut is a blessing, despite having to get a moto there.

I used to drink with the moto's outside romance and one of them had a guitar.

Do any Thai Visa members know of this place or live here themselves?

Tell your friend to look into 93 building on Suk soi 93

About 5000 a month, but has everything inside like kettle, microwave and cutlery cable tv etc

Closer to the BTS, but a good walk still. It's just over the hump back bridge

Thanks for that Kwang. I think that now the new BTS extension is open there is a BTS station nearer than On Nut , just at the mouth of the soi so not too far too walk. Funny you finding Scampis TV post .... I found that too.

Anyways , there is also a big night market nearby so plenty of food available in the evening of the 30 - 40 baht variety. Might be less than 7000 baht too. I only paid 5000 when I used to stay there as they have big rooms and smaller ones.

When did he get banned from here? I missed that.
