Happy Mondays - Step On
Impossible not to be happy with this on.
^meh.
a) San Francisco street music by a group called "Your Backyard": jazzy rap...gave them $5 and listened for 15 minutes...
b) Local SF high school drum corps: amazing street performances to raise money for uniforms and travel...noted: Asian, Latino and Black students...love the cultural mix at SF high schools...another $5 donated...
c) It seems downtown area street corners offer all types of music/entertainment as the sun sets and the fog rolls in...even a Christian screamer extolling the virtues of his personal fantasies to the long line of (mostly foreign) tourists by the cable car terminus...
Majestically enthroned amid the vulgar herd
To accompany some exciting mopping. Rock and roll
Woody Allen apparently used one of Koop's songs in a later movie.
I think the singer has a lovely voice. (Not sure what those guys are doing in dresses though).

Dolly Daggerm=Jagger. She drinks from a jagged (Jagger) edge
Rumours were Jimi and Mick were rivals for the same chick(s), not surprising really.I imagine Jimi won hands down.
Yeah, I'm sure Jimi spent hours thinking up those subtle barbs.
A couple of quotes:
The line "Dolly Dagger, she drinks her blood from a jagged edge." is a reference to Mick Jagger, at one of Hendrix's birthdays, Mick Jagger pricked his finger, and Devon Wilson Hendrix's girlfriend at the time), in full view of Hendrix rushed over and sucked the blood from his finger, refusing to get him a band-aid until the bleeding subsided.
This song is about Mick Jagger and Jimi's girlfriend Devon Wilson. Devon threw a birthday party for Jimi...but Devon always had a thing for Mick Jagger too. The story goes that a glass Mick was holding broke and cut his finger. Devon went over and started sucking on Mick bloody finger.
Devon and Jimi had a love/hate relationship.
Incidently, when that party ended, Devon ended up going home with Mick Jagger. Mick in turn wrote the song "You Can't Always Get What You Want" for Jimi Hendrix. Think of those lyrics:
"I saw her today at a reception
A glass of wine in her hand
I knew she would meet her connection
At her feet was her footloose man
I went down to the Chelsea drugstore
To get your prescription filled
I was standin' in line with Mr. Jimmy
A-man, did he look pretty ill"
Stevie's a voodoo child........
Surely a moniker of Fred Flintstone suggests hard or prehistoric rock?
