I guess beatbox means something like just using your mouth to make instrument-like sounds.
Here's a female just pumping out a beat...

Great song here. Propagator posted it on my 60s and 70s thread. If you like mellow instrumentals you may like this...

I still have a half of a bottle of wine to down. I'm drifting away as we all are. I drift away today but we all are drifting in the breeze, aren't we?

I was too young to attend at the time, but it would have been nice to be there.
What started off as a musical festival 40 years ago on farmland near Bethel, N.Y., ultimately became a symbol of an enormous movement within America’s youth culture.
Woodstock, a four-day series of musical performances in August 1969 that attracted about 500,000 people to watch performers such as Jimi Hendrix, Joe Cocker and the Grateful Dead, was a pivotal point in American history that marked a break from the tradition-based society of the 1950s, said Gary Hoppenstand, an MSU professor of writing, rhetoric and American cultures.

“Any society that fails to remember its history is fated to repeat it,” he said. “It’s important to remember what happened and where we were and why we were that way.”

Couldn’t find this song by Sonny Landreth on youtube so I figured out how to convert an ACC? (IPod) file into a WAV file and loaded on my youtube site. I don’t think it will be up long,.enjoy it while it is here.

Satellite Radio / satellite TV in the US is having "Woodstock Weekend" 40th anniversary.
72 hours of the best rock & roll show ever .. except Monterrey Pop / Isle of Man / ?? ...
I've set my Tivo to record all 72 hours .. I've listened to perhaps 3 or 4 so far.
interesting interviews .. such as Peter Townsend (sp) whopping Abby Hoffman in the head with his guitar when Abby stepped to the mic during the Who's set..

More to watch (1:52) in this video than there is to listen to,….still it’s got a pretty good beat.

Black Eyed Peas - I got a feelin
By the way,…..when you open a vimeo video if you look towards the bottom right hand part of the screen (of the video) you’ll see the volume control and right next to it you’ll see a “fan” like figure with arrows pointing in an outwardly direction,…….if you click on the fan, you’ll open the video up to full screen. To get out of the full screen, just hit your escape key.

The Twang's new album - Jewellery Quarter.
No-where near as good as their first album but still a few decent tunes on it, like this:

^Reminds me a bit of the Twilight Sad, I think. I may not be remembering the right name. Either them or The National.

Sorry LoyToy but I've always mixed up The Cars and The Motors, an other band from the late 70's which reminds me the good time when as young French exchange student I was chasing British girls in London.
Anyway, I still remember their (only ?) hit "Airport" especially the first few lines of the lyrics :
"Airport"
So many destination faces going to so many places
Where the weather is much better
And the food is so much cheaper.
.......
I will try to attach the youtube file later, but as I'm China right now I've some trouble to access the site.
