    The Criminal Thread

Are you a law-abiding lot, or not? What's the most serious trouble you've been in with the law, either here or at home?

I'll start by saying that back in the UK I never had any involvement with plod whatsoever (yeah, I know - they're the ones to watch ), and here in Thailand, I've been stoped once for making an illegal turn on my Dream and coughed up a small contribution to the police retirement fund.

    What about you?

(I've made it a radio button poll, so just choose the most serious option for you. ie, if you've been questioned, arrested and charged, but it never went to court, just tick the "I've been charged" option).
The sleep of reason brings forth monsters.

Being Thailand this could be a good measure of the finances of individual members. No money go straight to jail.

I used to attract cops and customs officers like a turd attracts flies.
The worst result, apart from much wasted time, was a fine for attempting to import protected species (a monkey's skull in my hand-baggage).

how much money you have will determine the results in most cases and in all parts of the planet.

though military law is very different - ( section 63 - miscellaneous )

I walked out of the Bombay Rock venue on Austalia's gold coast after seeing the Hoodu Gurus play live, and upon exiting and seeing the tropical down-pour outside, I said "fuck! it's pissing down". I was then arrested for abusive language by a gang of filthy mouthed, arse-wipe, queensland coppers and had to call my mum the next morning for $50 bail money! - another guy in my cell was locked up for leap-frogging a parking meter. ....fockin' police state australia is ...

The worst single incident was you getting sentenced to less than 5 years, so check that box.

Got arrested for trying to help a mate, who was getting grief from the local publican, got carried off in a riot van, thought it was really funny.
I asked the female special why she was in a job like this and not getting paid for it, she replied "my husband works nights and im bored".

Also fined for no TV licence, got to the court house to pay,but they wouldnt accept payment as there was a warrent out for my arrest...stupid

I had a similar thing happen to me but the fucking pepper sprayed me and locked me up over night then let me go in the morning.

Better than taking my shoes off me and making me walk back barefoot though

I have 2 DWIs - Driving While Intoxicated.

One in Washington State, and the second in Alexandria, Virginia outside of Washington, D.C.

It's wrong to drink and drive, but my level was barely over the legal limit of .10 in Wash (then), and .08 in Virgina.

In Washington state they have this socially engineered program where you have to take drug tests, go to drinking classes, attend and AIDS class for 70 USD for watch some guy put a condom on a banana, and you are on probation for 2 years.

    Unf*ckingbelievable.

In Virginia your first offense (mine, they didn't know) was a $300 dollar fine and a loss of license for like 9 months or a year.

After I plead guilty in Virginia and gave the court my physical license, I walked out of the court and got in my car, drove off, and drove across the country for about 3 months, travelling.

The usual minimum for DD in the UK is 12 months, but I agreed to attend a 'rehabilitation course' where the police teach you things like what they look for when searching for drunken drivers. Quite useful to a bunch of pissheads like us on the course.

They also kept on trying to make out that we had big problems and were boarderline alcoholics. They got confused when I insisted that I was a happy drunk and only once a week - never drank at home or alone.

ABH and GBH once a long time ago, never did any time for them, community service and a suspended. DD once.

Been reported to the police here once, when I roughed up some twat friend of a friend that came up here and threw him off my balcony for insulting my wife and Mother-in-Law. Against the advice on the guy that brought him here he decided to report me to the police. When the police turned up and found out what he said to their little cousin (wife) and Auntie (mother-in-law) they wanted to shoot him for resisting arrest
I have more than the average number of arm and legs

To many arrests to count them all 4 for drink driving 3 common assaults 1 destruction of property for kicking in a low life’s door. 1 causing actual bodily harm got a 6 months suspended sentence and two year good behavior I got off light as they threaten my life first and father new the judge.
2 months in MCE army jail for assault on a officer and destruction of military property
That’s all I can think of at the moment
Note this was when I was young and dumb
