Phuket Bar Buddies Blunder in Bust-Up: One Dead, the Other Wanted
PHUKET: When friends who worked together in a bar in Phuket's famous Soi Bangla Road argued, their fight had disastrous consequences.
One killed the other - and investigating police discovered a hidden hoard of marijuana that was probably destined for sale to tourists.
After the friends finished working in the Soi Bangla bar early on Wednesday morning, they headed back to their accommodation in neighboring units in Prabaramee Road, near the intersection with Soi Dog and Duck.
Teerayut Kongthu, 28, began having an early-morning squabble with his wife, Sirinan Arnu, 22. His workmate Pramoch Jeracheeppatana, 37, didn't like the loud abuse being heaped by Khun Teerayut and objected.
With that, police were told later, Teerayut pulled out a long Sparta knife and told his friend to back off. Khun Pramoch wasn't one to give up.
He reappeared on the scene armed with a homemade thai pradit gun and shot Khun Teerayut. He died before reaching Patong Hospital.
In a motorcycle at the premises, police found a haul of marijuana that belonged to Khun Teerayut. They are still hunting for Khun Pramoch.
