    Les Anges, Royal Phuket Marina

Seems the Les Anges, Royal Phuket Marina is starting their all you can eat buffet again on the 24th of August, half price drinks here though, although I should imagine half price of expensive just brings it down to affordable at these high end places.

PHUKET: Phuket's Best Indian Buffet is back with a new chef and a new menu. Special promotion @ just 449 baht. From 5-9pm. Buy one, get one free for the drinks! Reservations recommended. Call Mr Murat on 081-797 3364.

Les Anges at Royal Phuket Marina is open daily 7am - 10pm, through breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, "Sunset hour" and dinner.

Les Anges has also opened a bakery branch at Villa Market, the high-end supermarket situated in HomePro Village in Chalong, where it serves freshly brewed coffee and daily baked viennoiseries. Open daily from 8am to 10pm.

Sounds pretty good to me, but yet another high end Indian Restaurant for the rich people

Baluchi now boasts the skills of Indian chef Ratan Singh, late of the Mumbai Hyatt. His talents seal the authenticity of this restaurant, such as with some truly scrumptious dal makhani – lentils and beans soaked overnight with ginger, garlic combined with a tangy masala base.

This we eat with garlic naan bread but Hizfur, Horizon's Indian F&B Director, gently points out that we should have started with the chicken tikka with kasturi methi and that dal and naan are more main courses.

Anyway, the boneless chicken in spinach puree, kasturi methi and spices is a whole medley of tastes in one mouthful.

The same with the cottage-cheese-based paneer tikka with lababdar marination – many of these dishes are marinated beforehand, lending a fresh spicy combination.

Hizfur also explains why Baluchi has such a healthy reputation – because it uses genuine Indian ingredients and spices, along with long-grain polished rice.

He points out that the restaurant is immensely popular with vegetarians as the menu includes plenty of Gujarati Jain food. There are many, many examples of attention to detail here at Baluchi and it means that a genuine Indian experience is possible in Phuket.

    Royal Tandoor Indian Restaurant Phuket

I think we can all agree there are enough Indian Restaurants in Phuket to make it a holiday destination for a week or 2, just got to get rid of the taxis and jetskies, maybe some of the other scum that tends to reside in Phuket.

Royal Tandoor Indian Restaurant in Phuket is up next, they also have a second restaurant in Krabi.

    Address:78/6 Soi Moh Wattana,Thaweewong Rd.,Patong Beach,
    Kathu 83150, Phuket ,Thailand.

There is an English chef down in Rawai that used to cook in UK Indian curry house's.
He used to have 2 places but unfortunately due to problems with partners and Thai landlords doubling his rent (when he got busy) he has gone back to just supplying bars and restaurants around Phuket with his curries.
These are a few of the places I know.
Corner Bar Rawai,Yodsane Bar Big Buddha Chalong, Lakeside bar (rear of Wat Chalong) Da's Restaurant Kamala and Kamala Bakery. There are probably more but that's all I know.
He does about 8 different curries, Naan bread, Lime pickle, Mango chutney and poppadoms , spices ect.
They are the closest I have eaten to real British curries out here.

I have eat at the Navrang Mahal Indian Restaurant and it is very good but I am afraid most of the Indian Restaurants down here are abysmal.

    Phuket Royal India Restaurant

Penang in Malaysia has some real decent Indian food at bargain prices, also some great Indian restaurants that make Phuket look like London prices compared to them, also Lao or Vientiane has what I reckon are UK style Indian curry houses, and they are dirt cheap for meals.

20 years in Krabi and now in Phuket, so they got some experience behind them, lots of vegetarian dishes and fresh seafood, they also do Italian food, strange mix, 'ere Mr Patel, give us a haiwan pizza with that lamb rogan josh", naaa, wont catch on

    From their website.

Royal India Restaurant Phuket, newly Established in Phuket following our 20 years experience Krabi in our sister Indian restaurant Royal Tandoor.

We serve Strict Non-Veg dishes,Non Veg dishes, International food and Italian food
The new menu focuses on healthful Indian creations offering even more vegetarian.

There are daily specials created from the freshest seafood caught by local fishermen or produce from our resident farmers.

Those excellent curries are also available for take-away (frozen) from the Kamala Bakery.

Had a feed there around May I think it was.
A good selection of about four or five curries , Naan breads , fruits and sweets (not authentic indian sweets tho..)
It was an enjoyable and tasty meal if you love Indian food , ( I do !) , the buffet was about 800b from memory and half price beers were 50b.
Unfortunately , I overindulged and made a pig of myself , ralphed up the lot just inside the front gate when i got home .
I'D do it all again and probably will.

As was said before , a lot of Indian tucker in Phuket is overpriced and not at all authentic or tasty.
Its almost worth a trip to Penang to get some very reasonably priced , tasty , traditional Indian tucker.
