Parking at Friendship bridge Nong Khai?

I heard the parking is always full due to roadworks going on and being taken over by the contractors. Any up to date information? I need to leave my car for about a week as I am going over to Laos. Any suggestions? Thanks!

There are roadworks, but there was plenty of parking a couple of weeks ago. I can't see it being a problem.

Thai contractors will not be paying for car parking, plenty of road side for them to park on.

The parking lots on both sides of the approach road certainly haven't been full last couple of days. I'll be along there in the next hour or two so will have a look.

Plenty of spaces - the newest parking lot is about 300 metres from the bridge.

    When you see this sign...

Turn left and it's 30 metres up on the right.
    About 2/3 full today.

The other lots slightly nearer the bridge are fuller but certainly have spaces - and this land behind the new 7-11 is vacant. Not sure if you have to pay to use it or if it is secured.
