Funny that people slag off the UK about the above factors whilst hiding in a country where the average local has far lower purchasing power than Brits and can't afford to pay any tax, buy a car or travel overseas, works far longer hours than Brits, dies far younger than Brits with a far shorter retirement period, has 6 days annual leave per year, had 1/10 spent on their education compared to Brits and has 1/10 spent on their healthcare, and wishes that the sun and rain didn't beat down on them quite so fiercely day in day out.Quote:

The UK has its good and bad points, and good and bad places like anywhere else but to say it's the best place to live in Europe is purely subjective. For every Lake in the Lake District I could give you a lake Como or Lake Garda.
If it's so great then why do so many emigrate every year, or plan to emigrate at some point in the future? And I use my own economic needs as a yardstick, my money can go much further elsewhere doing the same things, in a more pleasant climate.
