USA Massive Fish Kill in LA Unbelivable Videopics

Oh no it has nothing to do with millions of gallons of oil and dispersant..

    Oh, no. Not at all..

    Washington's Blog

While the government denies that they are connected with the oil spill, there have been massive fishkills in Louisiana (and see this). Oil can be seen at fishkill sites (and see this), and the EPA has discovered high levels of nickel near the biggest fishkill. There have also been kills of starfish and other sea animals, including whales and dolphins:

    And see this.
Here are a couple of headlines on the issue since then courtesy of Florida Oil Spill Law:
My favorite Gulf photographer - Julie Dermansky - just sent me the following photos of the third recent fishkill in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana:

The fishkill shots were taken on September 19th at Bayou Robinson, and the oil shots were taken the same day in Bay Jimmy.

Dermansky notes that the state authorities have subsequently relented, and have conducted at least some minimal testing after all.

Those are some seriously disturbing photos. If I were of a religious bent I'd say someone was trying to get Pharaoh's attention.

Tis the consequences of choosing appearance over substance. No surprise here.

*sob* About as sad as the polar bear floating away on the little ice chunk (we all know they can't swim). 5555555555 More enviro propaganda for the leftist masses. How did the fishies get there? Sudden drought? Divine intervention then.

^ It's just more propaganda. The enviros in California stopped the water supply to farmers and killed many businesses to protect some minnow fish -- did that work? Face it, animals have become extinct or have morphed since time began. There are disasters, both man-made and natural, all the time. We learn from them and try to improve situations. Continually blasting people and businesses who provide jobs and keep the economy going is not the answer. I'm waiting for the enviros to dream up a reason to blame people for natural disasters like volcanic eruptions. And, if Al Gore is so worried about sea levels, why did he just buy a $9 MIL home on Malibu beach? Bunch of hypocrites. Now the lefties are complaining about a new type of salmon bred to grow at a much faster pace. Well, if the world pop keeps growing, we need to do something to feed the masses. DDT was banned so malaria found a new hold and now the world is infested with bedbugs, too.
B*tch, complain, moan, whinge. That's the militant enviros for ya.

^ No, I'm a realist. You are just following another line of sh*t from TD's hater of humanity. OK, you wanna blame somebody: WTF was the anointed one, obama, for several months? Couldn't get his finger out, could he?

Had to check for the real story -- there is always the real one there somewhere. Rather than a crazy blogger, this is from National Geo. If you bothered to google a bit, you'd find more.

A huge fish kill in a Lousiana marsh was likely caused by annual low-oxygen conditions—but the Gulf oil spill may have been an additional "insult," experts say.
The thousands of belly-up fish were discovered Friday in the Bayou Chaland area (see map) of Plaquemines Parish.
The die-off occurred during a time of year when a giant low-oxygen "dead zone" regularly forms off the Gulf, according to Prosanta Chakrabarty, a fish biologist at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
    ...
The body of water where the fish kill occurred becomes isolated during periods of low tide, which may have trapped the fish in a low-oxygen area, said Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries spokesperson Olivia Watkins.
Even so, "fish kills are not uncommon in this area, and if in fact this area was cut off from the Gulf by low tide, these fish would have suffocated," LSU's Chakrabarty said.

    JG Faux misinformation correction,

Not " ..bred to " salmon but genetically modified, and that may well be a pandora's box of ill effects.

Effects of GM crops are not known, Why ARE the bees disappearing. Don't you see we are in an unprecedented crisis?

Corporations like Monsanto are the one's killing us all.

Of course they must be blamed and reined in. Money is God and it isn't working. Capitalists perpetuate it.

Mr Albert Gore former VP of the USA

Why shouldn't one of America's greatest statesmen, a wealthy author and political insider rock star own prime real estate?

I"m sure he's a green as it gets in every way. He is changing the way millions people view their environment so I vote we allow him all the resources he wants.
I have given up use of a car and AC to help offset his CF

I love Al Gore. My sister lives near to him , well only Tipper now- and I've seen him in person very handsome, and single...

I"m sure AG will be on currency one day.

    AGREE.

i WOULD IGNORE JG but its disinformation has to be addressed.

Fortunately, most who are defending the indefensible are not very good at it, relying on insult and weakest of sarcasm and evidence always presented out of context or completely off topic.

Louisiana’s wetlands are resilient and have bounced back before. But no one knows how long this recovery will take.

jet is a total moron. I already redded the horrible [at][at][at][at] today and now I can't do it again. Can someone red that incredibly thick moronic piece of shit for me please. It's unbelieveble that any one can consider this anything but a result of millions of barrels of oil being pumped into the sea. Did they really think there would be no consequences?

BTW THanks for allowing the site, it is a blog but the evidence is well sourced.

    Overwhelming.

Really is on top of environmental news.

Geez, I guess we still shouldn't be eating Alaskan King Crab or salmon, huh? We've been eating it for years; even had Alaskan friends bring us coolers of it to Thailand in the early 1990s.

Is that the best photo you got, Mid? Surely there is a more sobby suck photo.

    Seems the sub headline,

    "...Bounced back before.."

is not really applicable as I doubt a oil gusher of this scale has never happened before.

^ Pfft. Who pays for your bloggers, taxpayers? There is plenty of info about the fish kills like this in LA over decades. Go check them out before you keep crying "the sky is falling".
Why don't you cry about the people in the Sudan, the animals habitually killed for Chink medicine, the illegal immigrant welfare people ripping off the USA, the Burmese workers treated as slaves and hacked up when they want their meagre wages in Phuket...you just like to rant about America. Fine, but your prob is, you don't get the FACTS straight. Just a little girl throwing temper tantrums. May I ask, did you ever have a real job? Like I said, I know a Fed agent in Phuket -- he could get help for you.
