Thread: Why is no one helping Pakistan ?

I guess Terror-Islam-Pakistan are stuck in peoples head. There is not a real donation rally going on like in Haiti. And leaving it up to the government or muslim brothers ain't much help to count on. Even though its Ramadan !!!!!

(AP) ISLAMABAD (AP) - The number of people suffering from the massive floods in Pakistan exceeds 13 million - more than the combined total of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the 2005 Kashmir earthquake and the 2010 Haiti earthquake, the United Nations said Monday.

The death toll in each of those three disasters was much higher than the 1,500 people killed so far in the floods that first hit Pakistan two weeks ago. But the U.N. estimates that 13.8 million people have been affected - over 2 million more than the other disasters combined.

The comparison helps frame the scale of the crisis, which the prime minister said Monday was the worst in Pakistan's history. It has overwhelmed the government, generating widespread anger from flood victims who have complained that aid is not reaching them quickly enough or at all.

"The number of people affected by the floods is greater than the other three disasters combined," Maurizio Giuliano, spokesman for the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, told The Associated Press.

I've given up on charity, a month ago I sent 5 pounds to starving pot bellied kids in Africa and they bought a fvcking trumpet!

I'm ready to send them some pairs of cervelats ... oops just forgot they don't eat unholly food. I'll pass then.

It's full of Muslims that want to kill us?

They don't need cash, they've got Allah. He'll take care of them.

I hear they found a survivor today - Mustafa Dinghy.

I can remember some of them dancing in the streets celebrating when 9/11 happened.

Didn't see Pakistan on the list of nations pledging aid to Haiti. Hmm? Maybe they should buy fewer jets and help their own people.

They don't wanna kill " you" it is " you who are killing them when ever it pleases you for no apparent reason or some economical reason ( and not only muslims are killed by "you" but also most of the rest of the world like many in latin america and untill recently asians lol) so go and read a few pages besides watching porn and cruising the forums and you might learn a thing or 2


I indeed don't care much about pakistan, jojo. But there is enough money in pakistan and much more in the region, if they can bail out america they could buy a few tents and feed these poor bastards living in the 15th scentury.

What's happened is that extremist and fundamentalist Muslim charity orgs have jumped in. So much for a sustainable policy in Afghanistan/ Pakistan.

If they win the next election, they'll control nuclear bombs. I wonder what's going to happen then. Or whether anybody remembers not supporting the somewhat current secular government (who aren't doing anything at all, not surprising, it's headed by another corrupt Bhutto clan member after all).

Not that I'd donate anything. But then I don't donate to anybody.

It's a bit sad, but there's probably some truth to it.

The Pakistanis are probably somewhat allergic to US army helicopters and equipment, as that's the very same people that are behind sneaky drone attacks and airstrikes the rest of the year. Sometimes they blow up whole villages full of innocent children and women (*). Whoops!! And now they want to help?

I don't know, if I was a Pakistani, I don't think I'd appreciate that sort of thing very much either - regardless of religion, or religious crazies hiding out in the mountains.

(*) other times they catch the bad guys, but who cares about that - the outrage about innocents being caught in the crossfire will far outweigh the indifference felt towards some muzzies up there that don't actually harm the locals, regardless of what else they're up to.

So, in jump various muslim charities. Big win for them.

Life is a bitch, one day your handing out advice and acting invincible, the next day, your asking for charity from those you referred to as a enemy of your religion/people.

All the money never gets to the people that need it, I don't suppose for 1 minute they don't have any corruption in Pakistan

According to article in Post #2 "British Muslims" have raised GBP 2 Million for the appeal. Wow out of 2.4 Million British Muslims, 1.2 Million of which are of Pakistani ancestry, they raise less than a pound per head.

Why should I care?

Like another poster said, practically none of the money raised will ever reach the people who need it in any case. This is true not only in Pakistan, but in virtually every third world country in crisis. Food aid rots in the ports, money is siphoned off by the government, aid shipments are sold to those in need. Sad world we live in.

What about the Red Cross? how much do they help themselves to I was quite amazed at the percentage that was quoted.

I was here in Phuket at the time of the Tsumani and that was a real eye opener.
