^^ Thanks for the notes, SD.
Why don't the Muslim brotherhoods in Saudi, Jordan and other countries take in the Palestinians? I see a prob in this area. Easier for the world to use Israel as the scapegoat?

You are so right. How dare those Turks criticise the chosen people. Just do as every U.S. President has done for years. Sit down and shut up on the lower couch.

    P.S.
If you look real close you can see Obama beneath the couch (Bush left him a pillow to be comfi).

A diplomatic spat is threatening to worsen Israel’s strained relations with Turkey, traditionally one of its most important allies in the region. The rift exposes growing Israeli frustration with Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who in a bid to increase Turkey’s regional standing has increasingly spoken out against Israel.
This latest crisis included a showdown at Israel’s Foreign Ministry, where Turkey’s ambassador was summoned to explain Mr. Erdogan’s recent harsh criticism, as well as a TV show that portrayed Israeli intelligence agents holding a woman and her baby hostage.
Breaking with diplomatic protocol, Israeli officials failed to include the customary Turkish flag on the table between them and the Turkish ambassador, whom they seated on a low couch. To rub it in, they instructed the press members in attendance to note that they were sitting in higher chairs and the usual diplomatic niceties were conspicuously absent.
Well, Israel has lost another allie....then again....does or did Israel ever had any allies.

I doubt that very much though i'm not sure about thailand . Beginning to believe that anyone who comes out of the middle don't have any friends . And maybe they don't want any .
If they are jew or a muslim then they usually refer to us as some kind of animal but not human .
Rather difficult to even think about being friendly with such people .
of course they will talk to you with a smile.
but behind the smile lurks ugliness itself.

Yes, they were making a statement about the oppression of the Gaza Strip. Had they delivered their goods to Egypt it would not have made any impact.

Absolutely, Israel had every right to shoot unarmed people trapped on a boat. It's simply the most civilized thing to do, like gassing people, you know.

Those attacks are condemned. Do a little research.

A wiser course would have been to escort the ships into a secure port, hold them for illegal entry for a time, send the goods to Egypt for processing, and the whole thing would blow over. But nope, Israel uses the guns over common sense tactic instead. Shame that Israel is trapped in the same menatality as their neighbors, violence first and foremost.

Yep, the only country outside of the enemies (N Korea, Iran and, OK, I'm throwing in Russia) that stands up for itself these days. If Israel had waited for the UN pussies, the guns and ammo likely packed inside of that aid would be in use this week.
AGAIN, what was wrong with the Egyptian port?
The West is just a bunch of libbie wusses these days.
Hello, Iran now has enough enriched uranium for TWO nukes and those S300 land-air missiles from Russia are in transit. Wake the fek up, people.

Jet, i don't believe there would be 600 or more people travelling on a boat that would be carrying ammunition .
I think it is the palestinians who are trying to stand up for themselves.
north korea ,,iran ,, living in a nightmare.
more concerned about israel having 250 nuclear war-heads and a lot of them apparently aimed at all the major european cities.

    Turkey joined the EU?

Cement is aid when some bastard destroyed your house with a bomb and won't allow building materials into Gaza to let you have a roof over your head.

I typed slowly so you could understand.

I think I know a way for you to be able to answer that without help.
I'm coming round to your house because an ancestor of mine lived near there 2000 years ago. I'm taking the house by force at the point of a gun but I'm kind so I'll let you live in a corner of your back garden.
Of course I will be building a big, fuck off wall around you because you are an unjustified terrorist who will sling stones at me. Being kind again I'll pop a few slices of bread over the wall from time to time and let you have a tent to live in.
Any more stones and I'll bomb the merry shit out of you with an F15 my mate gave me.
Don't worry about being cold, I'll send phosphorus shell over to keep you warm.

I won't be sending anything to let you build a house because I'm hoping you will fuck off to some other bastard's garden so I can take the bit I left you without the neighbours moaning. If you die of a bad cut because I won't let you have a first aid kit, all the better.

So how much aid do you think they send and is it enough and why exactly to they need that aid in the first place? I'm hoping I've supplied a few clues.
Be happy dudes. It's a lot more fun than crying.

That would have been the wisest move . . . but the Middle East is not known for wise decisions

Possible but unlikely as they knew the ship's captains knew they would be searched.

I generally stand up for Israel when it comes to its battles with terrorists, but this time (again) they have stuffed up big time . . . there was no need to board and shoot. Divert to an Israeli port and search.

    Maybe some of you experts can answer the following;

    - How come Turkey encouraged this flotilla? Is there a chance that the current fundamentalist govvernment that recently arrested many senior Turkish officials on the pretext that they were planning a coup, was looking for something that would will galvanize support for its regime?
The current government has made two public statements: It wishes to move away from secularism and it wishes to assume a bigger leadership role in the Middle East. What better way to do build support than to show their opposition to Israel. Thing is though, many arab leaders recall the stories of the Ottoman Empire and how arabs were treated. The arabs have as much love for the Turks as they do for the Persians.

-What does Turkey, the nation that refuses to acknowledge the genocide it perpetrated on Armenian Christians and a nation that continues to slaughter and oppress Kurds, have to lecture anyone on peace?

    - How come if this aid flotilla was that focused on helping people, the aid wasn't landed in Egypt and sent to Gaza via the Egyptian controlled gateways? Surely the Arab brothers in Egypt could be trusted to deliver the aid. Why did the material have to go through closed maritime water? If the flotilla organizers were told they would be intercepted by both Egypt and Israel, why did they persist on this folly? Is it possible that there was a desire to have a confrontation?

    - I have viewed the videos. Some from Al Jazeera, and some from the IDF. Based on what I have seen with the IDF personnel being attacked with metal bars and having weapons stripped, it is not out of the ordinary for there to have been hostile fire. Why did these peaceful aid delivery people not surrender? The point would have been made. Why did they attack the IDF personnel? Seems to me the intent of the flotilla was to create martyrs and to play for the camera.

    - What were the Egyptian naval vessels doing in the close proximity to the site?

If people wish to engage in a confrontation that they know will be violent, why are they not held accoutnable for their actions? Everyone knew there would be violence, so why did the flotilla organizers persist?

As the attack happened in international waters it stands to reason that the people on the ship were perfectly within their rights to defend the ship from an attacking armed force. Nobody complains when Somalian pirates get burning oil poured all over them, much the same situation here except the crew were relatively modest with their defense and the pirates were Israeli.
