Students plunges to death while fleeing religious officers

GOMBAK: In his haste to escape punishment from religious officers, a college student who was alone with his girlfriend plunged to his death from the fifth floor of an apartment.

The 21-year-old student was believed to have panicked when several policemen and officers from the Selangor Religious Department knocked on the door of the rented apartment Saturday morning.

Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rahim Abdullah said the 1.40am raid was conducted following a tip-off that illicit activities were taking place at the Jelutong Apartments in Selayang Heights.

"A few minutes after the officers knocked on the door of the apartment, they heard a loud crash before a girl opened the door," he said, adding that she looked shaken up.

He said the officers became suspicious when they spotted an open window and were shocked when they found the body of the student sprawled beside a drain a few stories below.

The student was declared dead on the spot due to massive trauma to the head and internal injuries.

ACP Abdul Rahim said the body was sent to Selayang Hospital for a post-mortem.
"The deceased was a student at a private college nearby," he said adding police have also recorded the girlfriend's statement.

The case has been classified as sudden death.

,,he was a sweet sensitive lad with a decent brain who wanted nothing more than to be with his chosen lady. When those religious POlicemen came a knocking well,, it was like the devil himself that was knockin at the door.
Well the poor lad panicked ,, the loss of face and terror of the religious police and he fled to his maker. RIP.

what a pussy, screw the police. Something i heard recently from iranian protesters: first they said don't critisize the government the revolution is new and fragile. Then they said we are in a war ( against the world, every body helped saddam to screw iran up ). After the war they said have patience we are in the recovery fase ( from the war). etc etc and now they say we are threatened to be invaded so shut up if you love your country...................

In lebanon, christianity comes first and then, that you are lebanese, 2nd. .they also have catholic orthadox, muslim ,sunni, shia .
and all these different religions have a different set of rules to live by and all are in conflict with each other .
So in the lebanon, the boys and girls ,the ladies and gentlemen have it rough. Almost forced to live in tribes. they can't mix.

It's a shame that their religion, which is supposed to give society order and a degree of inner peace for the individual, can instill such chaos and fear in the hearts of two young lovers.

I put it down to Malaysia wanting to, or needing to, show that they are just as good if not better Muslims than their middle east brethren . . .

. . . and they don't realise that they are overdoing it and makes themselves look ridiculous . . . in this case tragically so
