Dale Neumann faces up to 25 years in prison

A US jury has found a man guilty of killing his sick 11-year-old daughter by praying for her recovery rather than seeking medical care. The man, Dale Neumann, told a court in the state of Wisconsin he believed God could heal his daughter.
She died of a treatable disease - undiagnosed diabetes - at home in rural Wisconsin in March last year, as people surrounded her and prayed.
Neumann's wife, Leilani Neumann, was convicted earlier this year.
The couple, who were both convicted of second-degree reckless homicide, face up to 25 years in prison when they are sentenced in October.
A lawyer representing Dale Neumann said he would appeal.
'Faith healing'
During the trial, medical experts told the court that Neumann's daughter could have survived if she had received treatment, including insulin and fluids, before she stopped breathing.
On Thursday Neumann, who is 47 and studied in the past to be a Pentecostal minister, said he thought God would heal his daughter.
"If I go to the doctor, I am putting the doctor before God," he said. "I am not believing what he said he would do."
He also said he thought his daughter had had flu or a fever, and that he had not realised how ill she was.
Neumann's lawyer said he had been convinced that his "faith healing" was working, and that he had committed no crime.
The prosecution argued that Neumann had minimised his daughter's illness and that he had allowed her to die as a selfish act of faith.
They said the girl should have been taken to hospital because she was unable to walk, talk, eat or drink.
Instead, an ambulance was only called once the girl had stopped breathing.

Surely, by his logic, he's being a Godless heathen by going to MacDonalds rather than praying for divine intervention when he opens his previously empty fridge. And the cock has a lawyer. This story is just so sad. The parents really got themselves mixed up & took things to the extreme.

Christians do have faith in God's healing, but, this is in addition to good parenting practice, where appropriate medical help must be sought.

Unfortunately not all Christians are the same - frankly, a vast majority are simply folks who were nutters before becoming Christians. They remained nutters after conversion - sometimes getting far worse.

A real shame.

For some reason, and to make it even worse, this nut was allowed to stay free pending sentencing. That's common in Thailand for a convict to stay out on bail after conviction, but rare in America where you're usually remanded to custody upon conviction. That smirk on his face tells it all, this clown really needs to be someone's prison bitch.

I would wager he feels terrible about her death. No doubt blames himself for a lack of faith when it was his judgment that was in error.

I believe religion is the root of all evil.

But the same value of life is placed on these people, they allowed their girl to die without medical attention which is their choice as inbred, brainwashed hicks - I wonder how the girl would have died.

Anyway, instead of letting nature take it's course the law system kicks into play on the basis that murder is so bad because we humans are such a precious and dwindling species - the last thing we need to do is allow one to die, there's only 6.5 billion of us, or is it 6.7 now?
