Chauvin guilty on all 3 charges.
Chauvin guilty on all 3 charges.
To be honest, I don't know if he is guilty or not, and if guilty , of what?
There was very little room for an innocents decision given the political climate, threat of violence, and the fact that the city had already admitted guilt by paying out a very big and widely publicized settlement.
I am sure the case will be appealed and once forgotten, the real trial will commence at a natural venue.
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.

Watching that 9+ minute video, I don’t know how anyone could reach any other conclusion. IMO, that is the very definition of depraved indifference to human life.
I have not watched any of it, frankly I have better things to do with my life that to be subjected to the dempster fire that is American politics, It is very possible and probable that the cop in question is a thug , and as such after a fair trial he should be punished for the crime he committed. but I am sure the trial was politically tainted and as such the assertion will be made that it was not fair. , I am willing to give 10 to 1 odds it will be appealed , and I am pretty sure that the appeal will be based on the grounds that in view of the city's settlement with the family, and the refusal to move the trial to a different venue, the Jury pool was tainted. If I was his lawyer that's where I would be going.
Knowing as little as I do about the case.
Because it was reported that the city settled with the family for a very large amount. I think 22 million dollars. It was also reported that the lawyers for the cop in view of that settlement and the de facto acknowledgment it implied, filed for a change of venue for the trial, the argument being that the present venue was tainted, and were refused.
When I said I did not watch the trial, it did not mean that I am totally ignorant of of the facts surrounding this case.
All that I said above are facts , IMO it would be dereliction of duty for the cops payers not to pursue that avenue.
Unless he gets a very lite sentence and they don't want to risk an appeal , I will be very surprised if they do not appeal.

So you think cops should get off as long as a payment to the victims family is made?
You'll fit right in in Thailand.
I said I have better things to do than watch the trial, I did not say I don't follow the news. Every morning I log on to Google news, I scan all the headlines , if I find anything interesting I look further into it, if it is behind a paywall as it often is, I google the headline and look to see what other sources have to say. Once I know enough , I leave it along.
I know you might not think so but I know enough about the Chauvin affair, and what I said is going to happen , will happen.
As far as the trial is concerned. Notice I made no assertions about the actual trial . the only assertion that I made is that events leading to it have tainted the process and that IMO it will be appealed.
Does anyone have anything to say about that?
