I imagine no stone will be left unturned in his life and most stones turned to dust.

Journalists, MI5 the police will be picking his life and that of his family and friends apart under a microscope.

His local place of worship will be the focus of intense investigation.

I expect more arrests to be made as there is no way he was a lone wolf.

He's been born and bred in Fallowfield, a cosmopolitan area of south Manchester with a big student presence.

This attack is too big, there will be repercussions and Manchester will not forget.

If i was a Muslim in that area i'd be asking myself and everyone else a lot of questions because this attack is close to the point of no return.

    Let's hope common sense prevails.

Still no news on the other victims.

Schools are talking about postponing GCSE's exams because of the trauma to 21,000 people, mostly children.

    A sad day for Manchester.

    Manchester City is United.

The only way to move forward is through unity against the extremists and then maybe one day we will all sing from the same hymn sheet.

Nobody want to go back to the days of genocide and forced repatriation, world wide turmoil and war.

A days work, food on the table, a happy family life, a holiday every year and peace.
That's what everyone wants isn't it?

If not, they can go and live on the same island in the Outer Hebrides and play their senseless games together and leave the peace loving ordinary folk alone to get on with life.

Thousands of people were joined in together tonight from all faiths and skin colours in defiance at Albert Square in manchester.

    This is the place

In the north-west of England. It’s ace, it’s the best

And the songs that we sing from the stands, from our bands

    Set the whole planet shaking.

Our inventions are legends. There’s nowt we can’t make, and so we make brilliant music

    We make brilliant bands

We make goals that make souls leap from seats in the stands

And we make things from steel

And we make things from cotton

And we make people laugh, take the mick summat rotten

And we make you at home

And we make you feel welcome and we make summat happen

And we can’t seem to help it

And if you’re looking from history, then yeah we’ve a wealth

But the Manchester way is to make it yourself.

And make us a record, a new number one

And make us a brew while you’re up, love, go on

And make us feel proud that you’re winning the league

And make us sing louder and make us believe that this is the place that has helped shape the world

And this is the place where a Manchester girl named Emmeline Pankhurst from the streets of Moss Side led a suffragette city with sisterhood pride

And this is the place with appliance of science, we’re on it, atomic, we struck with defiance, and in the face of a challenge, we always stand tall, Mancunians, in union, delivered it all

Such as housing and libraries and health, education and unions and co-ops and first railway stations

So we’re sorry, bear with us, we invented commuters. But we hope you forgive us, we invented computers.

And this is the place Henry Rice strolled with rolls, and we’ve rocked and we’ve rolled with our own northern soul

And so this is the place to do business then dance, where go-getters and goal-setters know they’ve a chance

And this is the place where we first played as kids. And me mum, lived and died here, she loved it, she did.

And this is the place where our folks came to work, where they struggled in puddles, they hurt in the dirt and they built us a city, they built us these towns and they coughed on the cobbles to the deafening sound to the steaming machines and the screaming of slaves, they were scheming for greatness, they dreamed to their graves.

And they left us a spirit. They left us a vibe. That Mancunian way to survive and to thrive and to work and to build, to connect, and create and Greater Manchester’s greatness is keeping it great.

And so this is the place now with kids of our own. Some are born here, some drawn here, but they all call it home.

And they’ve covered the cobbles, but they’ll never defeat, all the dreamers and schemers who still teem through these streets.

Because this is a place that has been through some hard times: oppressions, recessions, depressions, and dark times.

But we keep fighting back with Greater Manchester spirit. Northern grit, Northern wit, and Greater Manchester’s lyrics.

And these hard times again, in these streets of our city, but we won’t take defeat and we don’t want your pity.

Because this is a place where we stand strong together, with a smile on our face, greater Manchester forever.

And we’ve got this place where a team with a dream can get funding and something to help with a scheme.

Because this is a place that understands your grand plans. We don’t do “no can do” we just stress “yes we can”

Forever Manchester’s a charity for people round here, you can fundraise, donate, you can be a volunteer. You can live local, give local, we can honestly say, we do charity different, that Mancunian way.

And we fund local kids, and we fund local teams. We support local dreamers to work for their dreams. We support local groups and the great work they do. So can you help us. help local people like you?

Because this is the place in our hearts, in our homes, because this is the place that’s a part of our bones.

Because Greater Manchester gives us such strength from the fact that this is the place, we should give something back.

Always remember, never forget, forever Manchester.

Manchester attack: UK terror threat level raised to critical

The UK terror threat level has been raised to its highest level of "critical", meaning further attacks may be imminent, Theresa May has said.
The move came after investigators were unable to rule out whether Manchester bombing suspect Salman Abedi acted alone, the prime minister said.
Military personnel will now be deployed to protect key sites.

The prime minister said soldiers would be placed in key public locations to support armed police in protecting the public.
Military personnel may also be seen at other events over the coming weeks, such as concerts, Mrs May said, working under the command of police officers.
The prime minister said she did not want the public to feel "unduly alarmed" but said it was a "proportionate and sensible response".

The highest threat level, which is decided by the Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre - a group of experts from the police, government departments and agencies - has only been reached twice before.

The first time the threat level was raised to critical was in 2006 during a major operation to stop a plot to blow up transatlantic airliners with liquid bombs.
The following year, security chiefs raised it once more as they hunted for the men who had tried to bomb a London nightclub, before going on to attack Glasgow Airport.

Very Sad. My heart goes out to those families.
It is an unfortunate fact of life if you decide to take in Muslim refugees/migrants, a certain percentage are going to end up killing innocent people in a land that has excepted them and given them refuge. Please to the forever apologists, don't drone on about Northern Ireland the crusades etc.
The issue is these poor children and teenagers that have had their life cut short by another Islamic murderer whose family was given refuge. An increasingly familiar story.
I wonder where we could have been today if the cradle of civilization had not been cursed with the scourge of such a cancerous dogma and people endowed with enough stupidity to follow it.

^ Agree with the point above.

    "Pray" for X city.

    "Stand together."

I saw a sign that said "no to racism." Muslims are not a race.

Why are Brits referring to Trump?

The people behind this need to be found and dealt with quickly.

PM May...it happened on your watch so time to show your leadership.
Thankfully, it is May 'on watch' at this time. Her prior role as the UK's longest serving Home Secretary in 60 years gives her a unique insight and knowledge of policing and counter terrorism operations and requirements. As the current Home Secretary, Amber Rudd will welcome I'm sure May's oversight in the days and months ahead.

Reflect that in little more than 2 weeks, the 8th June, the key players could be Jeremy Corbyn and Diane Abbott.........now that seriously concerns me.

the authorities work with their hands tied behind their back thanks to legislation, most of which hails from the eu, which gives the suspects more powers than the police.

that, and of course political correctness and a fear of offending "communities"

    e.g. rotherham, rochdale etc.

ask most muslims, and they will laugh at the way british and european society has made it so easy for those muslims who wish to, to take advantage of the system and how afraid we are in challenging them, how easy it is to circumvent immigration law, how there is no pressure to learn the language or integrate, how everything is done to promote diversity rather than integration. toughen up they say, stop being such wimps. take control of your society before they do.

looks like a famous musician is actually talking sense for once.

more surprising that bono and geldof are silent..

Morrissey Speaks Out on Manchester Attack, Condemns Theresa May, the Queen, Sadiq Khan

“Politicians tell us they are unafraid, but they are never the victims. How easy to be unafraid when one is protected from the line of fire”

Morrissey Speaks Out on Manchester Attack, Condemns Theresa May, the Queen, Sadiq Khan | Pitchfork

Celebrating my birthday in Manchester as news of the Manchester Arena bomb broke. The anger is monumental.
For what reason will this ever stop?
Theresa May says such attacks "will not break us", but her own life is lived in a bullet-proof bubble, and she evidently does not need to identify any young people today in Manchester morgues. Also, "will not break us" means that the tragedy will not break her, or her policies on immigration. The young people of Manchester are already broken - thanks all the same, Theresa. Sadiq Khan says "London is united with Manchester", but he does not condemn Islamic State - who have claimed responsibility for the bomb. The Queen receives absurd praise for her 'strong words' against the attack, yet she does not cancel today's garden party at Buckingham Palace - for which no criticism is allowed in the Britain of free press. Manchester mayor Andy Burnham says the attack is the work of an "extremist". An extreme what? An extreme rabbit?
In modern Britain everyone seems petrified to officially say what we all say in private. Politicians tell us they are unafraid, but they are never the victims. How easy to be unafraid when one is protected from the line of fire. The people have no such protections

It will require quite a few more bombs before that message gets through. In a nation and indeed a whole continent governed by apologists and diversity fanatics, even a rank amateur jihadist has the upper hand.

For some bizarre reason governments just react by having more police or soldiers out and about. They talk about improved "security" at key points etc. Meanwhile some inspired youth is making the next anti-personnel bomb in a back yard shed somewhere, knowing full well that the police and soldiers can't be everywhere, and will be sent home again anyway after the show is over.

In the meantime, light your candles; hold your vigils and wax lyrical about the tragic losses.... while some members of your "diverse" community get busy setting up the next event.

Morrissey, as with other 'personalities' seem to think of themselves as fonts of wisdom, and are probably correct to assume that those who admire and follow their music will absorb their offerings on any subject, regardless of how crass they are.

Politicians are always in the front line as potential terrorist targets, hence their protection. It was only a few weeks ago that the guy attempted to enter the Houses of Parliament, killing several by ramming them with his car, and stabbing to death the police officer who confronted him. Events such as the Brighton bombing in 1984 taught the security services a great deal.

Tax is correct in his previous comment about authorities currently having their hands tied through legislation. Any action has to be carefully thought out and mitigated, not knee jerk retaliation. I doubt that anyone seriously thinks our leaving the EU and then controlling immigration will not help. What we do with home grown terrorists is another matter.

All the harder because they actually aren't immigrants. They are already among us, quite scary.

    Too tragic for all involved

What drives a person born and brought up in the area into commiting such an act?

Fairly conclusive evidence supporting my contention that the atrocity would favour the Tories who would enjoy a fillip to their campaign bolstering the illusion that May's sclerotic, unimaginative and somewhat pedestrian style would curry support among the stupid who actually think that because she had sequestered herself in the Home Office for six long years she was somehow a fucking expert.

May buried herself quite happily for six years in the HO because she lacked the ambition and talent to do anything else. As a minister she is really no better than any slavish apparatchik without the emotional intelligence to understand the effect her style has had on the very department which provides the security template for our society's well-being.

She is the one who has stripped the UKBA bare of its resources to do its job properly, reducing manpower, reducing salaries and demeaning their status to a degree they have become mere automata not permitted to use their intelligence, judgement and discretion.

She is the stupid bitch whose inexorable throttling of policing resources across the country over six years that has had the effect of forcing commanders up and down the country to divulge that they no longer can offer a service to the community that deals with the grassroots problems of anti-social behaviour - she has closed down more police stations than any previous Home Secretary and centralised as much as possible into ghettoes of streamlined machinery that has long lost the confidence of locals and ordinary citizens alike.

This hasn't happened because of some spontaneous inertia inflicted from the fucking planet Zog - it's as a consequence of year-upon-year cuts to budgets and manpower and fucked up policy championed by the stupid bitch May.

Throughout the shires and provinces of middle England at any one time there are merely 3 officers to police and respond to the public's needs within a radius of 30 miles of any population centre.

That is the fucking reality of modern day policing and security of the past six years, that is the fucking legacy of Theresa May, perhaps the most loathed and despised Home Secretary among the police in the past 100 years.

So, PAG, in your insufferable blimpish and idiotically ignorant stupidity, please do carry on with silly illusions and daft cliches if you will, but no one who knows the truth is falling for the utter shit that Theresa May is strong and the woman for the job - she is obdurate, a little bit stupid and a bully who shrieks and squawks at her staff whenever her blinkered and narrow-minded policies inevitably fuck up.

Still, the British are quite stupid and prefer illusions to reality so no doubt she will carry on and fuck up an entire country, never mind a mere civil service department.

No fucking wonder the stupid cvunt has put soldiers on the street, there aren't enough coppers to do the fucking job after that sclerotic bitch has spent six fucking years stripping them of their manpower.

be that as it may, she and her team are a better bet than the execrable "jeremy", his retarded obese whore abbot and his fixer mcdonnel to run the country, wouldnt you agree?

Hmm... there is no solution to this 'problem'... all the candlelight vigils and #peace and love, etc, won't change a thing...

It's too late.. the rot is there.. it's like trying to cure cancer, almost impossible... prevention is/was the key... it's just too late...

It's akin to have thousands of pitbull dogs roaming the city - many are adorable, lovely with kids, yada yada... but a percentage are (or can be made into) killers.

America has a lot to answer for... they are reprisal attacks for bombing of their citizens... no attack on children or non-military is justified. Sad state of affairs, I can't see any solution, just have to put up with these attacks... unfortunately, it's the penalty to be paid for such an open PC liberal society...

This has been said before but it probably could bear telling again, the people that the racist little Kippers and Daily Telegraph/Daily Mail readers continually hold accountable for all that they feel is horrid in our society are not FUCKING IMMIGRANTS, they are BRITISH.
Fucking born and bred BRITISH. BRITISH passport holders. Graduates of the BRITISH education system. Recipients of BRITISH welfare. BRITISH, not fucking immigrants, but BRITISH.

So, what you are saying is that the terrorist attacks in Russia are because of their "PC liberal society", yep?

You truly are a shallow thinker, aren't you?

As British as I am a gook... maybe, British in so far as they have citizenship... ok.. let's not argue that point.. let's concede your point, and say they are "British"...

Doesn't change the fact that they are susceptible to extremist ideologies, and a great danger to the society in which they live.

What do you propose we/they do to eliminate this threat? (SA)...

    ^ Good post, Tax.

They don't integrate too well, do they? dooh...

They don't want to integrate, they want to annihilate and dominate... multiculturalism is a failed/fucked system, which has led to this.

"High risk" nations, should not have been allowed to 'integrate' in the first instance.

Trump has the right idea, (one of his few good ideas) but it's simply too late.. the horse has bolted. The enemy is within... if anyone has a solution, I'm all ears... (little brains) but all ears...

Nope.. I'm simply saying, not every nation on earth, has the ability nor desire, to integrate with their host country... a bit like a big stinky ass lion, in a field of sheep... only thing he's gonna integrate, is his jaw around their scrawny necks...
