A Russian man has been arrested and hospitalised after nailing his testicles to cobblestones in the icononic Red Square in Moscow.

Pyotr Pavlensky, a performance artist, stripped naked before performing the gruesome act of self-mutilation near to Lenin’s mausoleum in protest to what he believes is Russia’s descent into a Putin-led police state.

In July last year Pavlensky held a rally in support of prisoners participating Pussy Riot. He sewed his mouth and stood at the Kazan Cathedral with a placard "Speech Pussy Riot has been famous action replay of Jesus Christ (mf.21 :12-13)."

Would be pretty tricky to get the nail through the testicle. Would have to hit the nail quite hard and fast to avoid the testicle popping sideways inside the ballbag when the pressure is applied.

Kudos if he really did skewer the actual testicle.

He's certainly got some balls that bloke (or did have).

As the young man doesn't appear to be in too much pain i'm a wee bit more than sceptical in that he may have used the 'No More Nails' product and erased some appropriate lettering on the packaging just to give himself added publicity. A naked man in Red Square? Well, that type of storyline doesn't really take too long to hit the headlines on TD does it now.

To be honest i've always had some reservations about any goverment backed 'care in the community' program. Seems Moscow also has it's fair share.

Begs a question though. If I wanted to nail my own testicles to road cobbles, what sort of nails should I be using? Would I be able to obtain some kind of flesh-sandstone combo type nails in a local Home Pro shop in Rayong, even?

This might warrant a separate thread in the "Construction.." forum, maybe.


Side note: I wonder if Boris missed his 'nads and swore when he hit his own thumb..?

I would be looking at 4 inch stainless steel to minimise risk of infection.
