Jimmy Tarbuck arrested in child abuse inquiry

Comedian Jimmy Tarbuck has been arrested in connection with a historical child sex abuse investigation, the BBC understands.

North Yorkshire Police confirmed that a 73-year-old man was arrested in Kingston upon Thames on 26 April.

The entertainer and quiz show host was released on police bail pending further enquiries.

He was questioned about an alleged assault on a young boy in the late 1970s.

North Yorkshire Police says Mr Tarbuck's arrest came after information was passed on by Metropolitan Police officers working on Operation Yewtree.

The force stressed that this arrest "is not part of Yewtree, but a separate investigation" by North Yorkshire Police.

Operation Yewtree was set up following the death of Jimmy Savile in 2011, when hundreds of sex abuse allegations came to light about the former DJ.

Maybe they shared it, he said it on Spitting Image Thor

Jimmy Tarbuck - Spitting Image Wiki

Jimmy Tarbuck (1940) is a British comedian.

He was often seen with Bruce Forsythe on the show, continuously repeating his catch phrase "Ho-Ho" or "Boom-Boom". Usually nobody considered him to be funny. In one sketch he and Forsyth are seen as weeping people at a hospital where a doctor informs them that their very old jokes "have died".

    ------------------------------------------

Tarby was also convicted of stealing from Terry-Thomas, and was given a two-year probation when he was a youngster !

Well he is form Liverpool so no ' surprise surprise' there then

Whenever I am awaiting luggage at an airport I think of Brucey, half expecting a "cuddly toy" to appear on the conveyor.

Especially as he spent all of his career with a bloke's hand up his arse.

^Yup. Surprised Emu hasn't launched any allegations yet.

I always hated Tarbuck. Hope they hang him, tbh.

Jimmy Tarbuck will not face abuse charges

Jimmy Tarbuck was arrested in April last year

Comedian Jimmy Tarbuck has been released without charge after his arrest over allegations of child sex abuse dating back to the 1970s.

North Yorkshire Police said the 74-year-old was arrested in April last year after information was passed to them by Metropolitan Police officers

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) confirmed six allegations had been made by six separate individuals.

However, it said it had advised police no further action should be taken.

Mr Tarbuck had been arrested in Kingston-upon-Thames on 26 April and released on bail.

The CPS said a file of evidence, prepared by North Yorkshire Police, had been handed to them in November.

A spokesperson said: "This file of evidence included six allegations made by six separate complainants.

"All the complaints have been reviewed in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors and the CPS legal guidance on rape and sexual offences.

"We have determined that there is insufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction in relation to all complaints and have advised North Yorkshire Police that no further action should be taken''

Reputation still tarnished though. People should have the right of privacy in these circumstances.

Yep. Seems some of the allegations were that he had sexually molested a group of girls during a UK "Top Of The Pops" edition in 1963.

He never appeared on TOTP ever. And the show didn't even fukcing start until 1964!

That should have been easy enough to determine, one would think..?

Good article in the Daily Wail about the recent pedophile hysteria, and it's effect on society illustrated with social experiment: Walk on by Britain: Two little girls pretend to be lost in a busy shopping centre. So how many people stop to help? One. How many ignore their plight... 616! | Mail Online
