Fcuking great catapult for scaring Burmese junta soldiers (well, probably decapitating them with a good shot!) - Photo from Irrawaddy website back in 2021.

Yes, HNY to you and all. Gosh, what a lot of melons!!

I peruse the news about Myanmar on a daily basis, since the junta decided to exclude me from the country in Autumn 2022. I'm quite happy in Luang Prabang, but impatiently waiting for my UK state pension to start in 18 months from now. If the junta in Burma has been overthrown by then (which is a definite possibility), then I'll be on my way back to the country to help out in any small way with the lost education over the past few years.

Candy alas departed this life a couple of years ago. I will have to check with the website in China as to what their latest models can do....

You'd think they would go with more traditional methods like a bamboo bow and arrow.

From news reports, they ARE using bamboo bows and arrows and absolutely anything else that can defeat the junta. Word is that they are actually succeeding (slowly...). The military is severely depleted of staff (either killed, captured or changed sides). The deciding factor in this war is China. If China decides that it is better to support the civilians then the junta is toast. China has oil pipelines passing through Myanmar to the Indian Ocean port and the junta can no longer guarantee the safety of that pipeline from sabotage.
