    Bones Goes Walkabout

Volume 1 - Starting in the town of Oxted and taking in the Surrey Hills countryside around Oxted and Limpsfield, an AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty)

Starting out from Oxted down we worked out way down the high street and into a pin of green. A quick bypass of the old village of Limpsfield.

Moving on through out first section of woods, we came across a nice bench with a viewpoint and a moss covered wood.

A quick hop across the Westerham road and we walked through or on the edge of some farmers fields.

Back into a very old wooded area called Limpsfield Common

A great little trail and day out. We just bought our 'Two Together' Railcard which gives us a 1/3 off all off peak rail tickets throughout the UK.

Luckily this trail comes out at Limpsfield Chart and the very fine establishment that is The Carpenters Arms for some much needed refreshment!

Back on the trail and back into the rainy cold! we finished the day with some sweeping views beyond the carefree sheep!

Lovely part of the world was in Westerham as a kid and revisited last summer, Brasted also well worth a visit the Vale of Holmesdale and the whole scarp of the N down, green owed.

    just noticed the typos

Holmesdale, also known as the Vale of Holmesdale, is a valley in South-East England that falls between the hill ranges of the North Downs and the Greensand Ridge of the Weald, in the counties of Kent and Surrey.

I grew up in the Weald, from same root as Wold in Cotswold and German Wald, much of the forest burned for smelting in middle ages the Ashdown Forset remains, and the fantastic Pinetum. As a boy would walk cycle and jump the trains all over the Downs from London to Brighton and East Grinstead to Canterbury, many of villages that have an easy commute to London are full of cars and the old pub a curry restaurant but in deepest Sussex and East Kent still some lovely country and villges the Wye valley near Ashford, Romney Marshes. Rye, Cooden and Tenterden, my fave Sturry in isle of Thanet.

    Nice, smeg.

Quite normal. The English place names give me a girly giggle and the weather is damp and grey. Reminds me of the last time I was back on the British Isles and why I haven't gone back since.

That looks like a good place for mountain biking though.

    ^Thanks Butterz

Yea there were some bike tracks along a few trails amongst the horse, cow and sheep shit.

Meh, after 20years in an oven, I am liking the weather. At least I don't nearly die of dehydration every time I go for a hike.

    ^ ^^ ^^^ ^^^^

Ta very much! I will try and get some better drone shots on the next walkabout. I hadn't taken her for a spin for half a year, so didn't want to push her too much and the lighting wasn't good that day anyway.
