I love the bargain aisles in supermarkets. I'm always elbowing the old biddies clustered round them out of the way to see if I can get what I need cheap. If you're using it that day, or can freeze it, why not? I'm also a fan of the "value" ranges for things like tinned tomatoes, dried pasta, flour, lemonade etc. I've even changed Mr NR's shopping habits (brand names are better - pshaaw!)

I really wouldn't know the price of a loaf of bread if my life depended on it.
I also try not to use supermarkets, support your local independent shops, I say

    Actually by definition it is.
If it's poor quality then it's not a bargain (for the money).

Depending on the quality [or lack of it] of the product or service.

You, like most, have been hypnotised into considering any such bargains are worthy of any value. Look at the examples used in reference throughout this thread......shite isn't a bargain nor a value.

    Perspectives will vary.

    .
That's what I said. If it's a bargain it's good quality for the money.
If it's poor quality it's not a bargain.
So something cheap and good could be considered a bargain. (by definition)
Something cheao and crap would not.

I always have a nose in the reduced isle when I'm on a beer trip to tesco. Bought a few top end aberdeen angus steak cuts recently, which will make nice treat meals . I reckon on saving 20 odd euro a week. Happy days!
