Thread: Posting pictures from my ipad

I'm wanting to post some pictures of my travels and condo construction. I've got them on my my iPad and can post them on Facebook directly from my ipad. Anybody got any ideas about the best way to post them on Teakdoor ?

You need to host the photos somewhere, if Facebook allows you to post it's image file links then you just use the little square yellow icon in the TD post editor to paste the links.
Might be better off and easier to use a dedicated photo server though. I use imgur which has an app.

Well there you go, pick the image in Facebook, open the image in a new tab to get at the URL.

Thanks for the explanation necron, however, would you be so kind as to dumb it down a bit? I have few computer skills, I don't even know what "URL" is. Got some nice piccies to share tho.

Go to the picture in Facebook using your browser, not the Facebook app.
Hold your finger on it and you will get a menu with three options, choose "open in new tab"
In the browser address bar will be something that looks like sphotos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/195939_3718978059088_1080348743_n.jpg

Select all this and copy it.
Make your post here and when you want to post the picture use the little icon that looks like a yellow mountain scene.
A box will pop up
Backspace out the http// but and then past your copied URL into the box.

If what you are copying already has [IMG] tags then don't use the button, just past it into your post

Are you doing what I said or something else?
The latter I suspect.

Almost there in my tiny brain. When I copy the URL it's starts with http www.Facebook".............. Does that sound right? I take it that you can't simply post a photo from your photos section of the iPad, you have enter in an address of some kind where the photo is stored on a server somewhere?

Open an imgur account. It's free witha very simple app that gives you links you can post straight in.

You can also post from the TD gallery using your iPad- after uploading your pic, click in the 'i' button and it will give you the code to copy-and-paste.

You have to copy-and-paste the picture URL, not the FB page link.

When I open an image in my fb I get an option on the bottom that says get link. Pated that into TD still no good?

Using your iPad? Hold your finger on the pic and then push 'copy' and it will allow you to paste it properly- if it doesn't end in .jpg off FB, it won't work.

Ok, needed to get rid of the http bit first. Cheers Failsafe! Better update my house thread, it's finished!

It already is, the drive's just a bit off.

Why not just use the Teakdoor Gallery.
