    Weird text eating problem

I don't really know how to describe this, but it's happened a few times and it's beginning to do me nut in.

Occasionly I'll be responding to a post, I'll wite a big long winded reply, finish, then review what I've written before pressing "Submit".

Then, befor pressing submit, I see a few comments I want to add, so I try to edit them.

    Example:

I'll have written a sentence such as " X is an absolute [at][at][at][at], I hope they get stabbed to death"

I then review this, and realise that I want to add another word, such as a "fucking" before "death", so it reads "I hope X gets stabbed to fucking death"

I'll click my mouse after the "to" and start to type "fucking". As I type the "F" of fucking, the "D" of death will disappear. I'll type the "U" of fucking and the "E" of death will disappear.

Hard to describe, but a definite problem I'm having with the board. Anyone else have this problem? Can admin suggest a way to stop it? My cache the problem?

On your keyboard you have a button marked 'insert', the function is either on or off.. hit that.
Problem solved. Send me a green.

Oh, right, yet another case of me being a computer illiterate goon! I'm assuming that's the button on my keyboard which just says "INS"? I hope so, I did just green you for that in advance mate so if I hit it and it breaks my internet I'm holding you personally responsible Neo!

    Here goes....

Nah but seriously, I'll try that next time it starts happening and see if it makes a difference, seems to occur at random times when it feels like it!

    Cheers Neo.

the insert or ins button is usually up in the top right corner of most keyboards.

Thank you Neo , I would have to put myself in Kmens class of literacy as far as computers are concerned, I have now found out what another key is for on my computer.
There are still a lot that are a mystery, but one at a time is good , thank you again.

Yes, it looks like an insertion problem. Much more insidious than tHE CAPS LOCK PROBLEM.

BTW - I approve of the new colour scheme in this room. Reminds us all to be nice and helpful.

    I don't think so.
The insert key is pretty hard to hit accidentally, and as described,he would have to have hit it once to turn it on,and a second time to turn it off.
As he says it's only intermittent, I don't see it as being the cause.
