    ^Safety first in Malta

Speaking of safety, you literally take your life in your hands walking on foot paths here.
Much safer to walk down the road, as most peeps do.

I experienced a hatric of near fatal slips on this bad boy paving today and I wasn't even pissed!

No win, no fee compo lawyers would make a killing out here.
    Shalom

If you don't Want to twok cars, you can always get z bus!

€2 any trip, be it 5 minutes or two hours! Totally bizarre most just buy the €21 a weekly unlimited ride card.

Continuing on the subject of transport ...

I bought a boat for €50 from a local "businessman" in a dodgy car park..

He promised me faithfully that I could fit 50 North African economic migrant males on it and earn some coinage transporting them to yhe mainland.
    Fvck it I'm in!

It's a nice sun soaked Island steeped in culture, mostly catering to the Italian Market.

The days of British pensioners on long winter stays are long gone.

    Brexit changed all that .

I prefer it this way, we are possibly the only British in our hotel.

The lads are very popular with the Maltese girls.

I've warned them that you've got to marry them if you look sideways at them or their fathers will hack your bollocks off.

Not much nightlife here or ladies of the night, not that I'm looking.

    ^Just happened to notice, like...

Kid I went to school with until about Easter '78, when he dropped out before the exams, opened a news agent's there.

    After marrying a Maltese lass.

Or 'A Malteser', as my old dear liked to say.

So if you see a Brit shopkeeper, ask him if his name is Dave.

    Villa [at][at][at][at] he was.

Like Boules, except it has cylinders and balls, called Bocce pronounced Bochi. Played a few times with the locals, good fun with a few beers after the sun sets.

^ Many years ago I lived in Horfield in north Bristol for a short time, and over the road there was a bowling green, crown bowling if I remember correctly.

I found it really good fun to play, and very addictive.

You gotta admire the Maltese for their recycling schemes.

Whatever the time of day people are always using these plastic bottle recycling machines that give you a supermarket voucher for 10cents a can or bottle. Hal would love it here, he would only have to collect 50 bottles to buy a bag of Spice.

    Malta-20240405_180543-jpg

I must have lost about twenty Euros this week by not taking advantage of this scheme, fvck it...you live and learn.

Our trade unions have fvvk all influence anymore , Thatcher saw to that..

Apart from the NUT who havd been causing misery on the trains for nearly two years!

Their monumental pay rise is going to have a massive knock on effect.

Not here in Malta, the minimum wage is about €8 an hour and explains why there is a massive SE Asian young work force here.

The Maltese ive spoken to moan about them saying they save every penny and send home not contributing to the Maltese economy, sound familiar?

The weather and water looks really nice.

The food being eaten looks terrible.
