North Alberta has been in a range from -20 to -30 for a couple weeks but it went to -37 the other day. It then warmed up to -10 for a few days
-25 in New York with the wind chill factor, after missing a connecting flight to California, obviously not thinking we would be leaving the airport in New York we were dressed for California.
my feet were cold in bed last night
nearly -2feet
Did a 3 week contract on the Alaska pipeline at about -40 including wind chill factor - went straight from there to Juba ,two days later, in the Sudan at about +35 !!!

Lowest ever been in was -11 in Cologne a year ago. Had to go out to Shell petrol station at 2am for beers, only 500m but fucking cold. Sobered me up so had to go get more beers at 4am...life sucks eh!
As it stands, right now this minute here in Newquay, it's:
on my indoor thermometer that has a wire sensor hanging outside...My central heating is on full blast. Warm as toast![]()
July 2009 I left a warm Phuket for a brief trip back to NZ; stayed on a friend's farm, this pic of a mid-morning warm-up game of football with the dog, recorded as minus 4.75C.
Too cold for me.

The cold there isn't that harsh - very dry.Originally Posted by Bower

Working in Edmonton Canada dec 2009 -46 to -58 with wind chill.
When the temp got back up to -5 or so we were all driving around with the window down, saying what a lovely day![]()

Is that a BMW 323?
Missus is cold 22 c at night in Bangkok, fan turned off at night.
Its been getting down to 24°C here at night lately. I haven't had the fan on (never have the AC on) at night for ages.
Coldest ive been , is around the -40 mark whilst working in Jasper, Alberta, back in the early 90s. Like Rigger said, once it got close to zero, we were driving around as if it were tropical.
It's about moisture in the air and wind, -5 with driving wet sleet in high wind can feel much colder than dry -25
Coldest I have ever been has always been winter-storms in the north atlantic in combination with not being able to stay dry, cuts straight in to the marrow of your bones
Glad I'm sitting out here in TH now never to be real cold again I hope![]()

It's been -15°C here for about 3 days with an additional 20kmph wind making it feel much colder. 39 days more to deal with weather.
brrr sounds real cold
what's the air route, flying from mid west usa to thailand ?
It was so cold last night the flame on my lighter froze
Flying around northwestern Alaska we would routinely see straight temps of -45F, often -50F
Those temps usually would occur during a thermal inversion, where warm air holds the cold air on the ground. It might be +20F at 1000 feet.
Where the cold and warm layers meet light refracts and images on the horizon reverse. A mountain range in the distance could appear upside down! Strange phenomena indeed.
A chilly 18C in Ranong right now, brrr!
