If the truth be known the outback relies on the cities and the cities rely on the outback and the Aboriginals suit themselves.

If we can get every fooker to believe in and work for one country across every walk of life Australia would be far better off for it.

But I am proud of where I am from.

I think the universe and life itself is something to be truly proud of belonging to.

But to comment on your views. Take, for example, the Republic and Northern Ireland... WTF is the difference? an imaginary line that separates fuk all, taking away all the nonsense people have been indoctrinated with over the past 100s of years, especially focusing on the last 40 or so... Same land, same people, same 8 months of superior weather ( ). Why be so proud of one to stand hand on heart etc etc, but not the other?

It's manufactured nonsense for the simpleton drones.

I honestly thought you for smarter.

Did Einstein mention anything about friendly nationalistic competition, not fooking wars, blowing up buses or cutting childrens fingers off.

Look at your own foozball competition, most supporters (who happen to live in the same country) are fervent in supporting their sides, singing their club songs in a friendly manner with a few simpleton drones spoiling it for everyone else with their manufactured nonsense.

You keep on reading about Einstein mate.....Oh and by the way can you ask your mentor who his tip is for this years FA Cup.

I respect the footballers more. They're not killing people.
Thank fuck we didn't need to rely on you in 1939
Which was the last time we needed soldiers (OK, maybe the Falklands).

I would say that some communities are more segregated now then what they were 10 years ago and it is getting worse in most countries by the day.

Being proud about where you have chosen to live your life, becoming part of that community and as one, whether you are black, white or yellow and regardless of what religion you are is what I am talking about.

In fact whilst technology has made the world a smaller place to access a clear divide between nations is becoming more and more evident and not because of a certain population's decision about being proud of where they come from and showing it.

Nationalism in times of peace is the last resort of the weak, a sure indication that there are serious internal problems and that the country/people are just not cutting it.

It's the stench of the terminally ill.

^ And this coming from a Yarpie.

Sorry mate but you Oaks must be the most nationalistic, proud, hands on heart people I have ever met.

Sure your country has social problems and I bet most there wish that a bit of nationalistic pride could solve those problems.

No more World Cups to bring the peace or cure the divide mate.

You are so right, they do wish it would solve their problems. It won't.
