I'm going to Silom with my video camera, i'd say pray for me but I ain't religious

I am not doing this for your entertainment or mine, I don't really know why I am bothering but I have a friend who is a photographer and he wants me to accompany him because we get on quite well, despite him being French.

Gosh you're so special and brave, unlike the thousands of others who've gone there with cameras

If not, available at his nearest PAD retail outlet. Huge, "model discontinued" discount available.

If you see a chopper circling above, --- get rid of the camera! It might be mistaken for a grenade launcher. Anyway, the government has said we cant display pictures of their atrocities when the shooting starts. Just happy snaps allowed.

PS. Could be best to go naked as just about all coloured clothing has been used up. Yellow, red, pink, blue and now multi coloured. And now someone said the terrorists shooters formerly dressed in black are dressed in white, so thats out too.

PPS. Hope you get some good shots. Urmmm.. I mean photos.

It was erie to see just how much of a huge area they have taken up, the whole of the Central World area was almost unrecognizable, the usually gridlocked road was like a car park with an almost summer féte atmosphere that gradually got more war preparation further down Ratchadamri Road to the strongly barricaded Sala Daeng intersection.

On the other side of the road just past the Dusit Thai and the MRT, Au Bon Pain was being boarded up, most shops were closed and hundreds of riot cops lined the street. There were coils of razor wire and soldiers with Uzi's around the BTS near O'Reilly's and it was all rather quiet and spooky.

The focus was the huge stage set up back up near Central World where there was a huge banner saying WE ARE NOT TERRORISTS - WE ARE PEACEFUL PROTESTERS which is presumably their message to the world. Obviously nobody has told them that nobody gives a fuck about Thailand outside Thailand.

Anyway, got some good footage and interviews and the almost comical journey home was documented. Having walked from Chit Lom to the Italian place opposite Molly Malones in Silom, then back through the barricade and back up to Central World all the way to Asoke and then all the way to Thong Lor I was quite exhausted, though not quite as pissed off as my French companion who was lugging about and SLR and several lenses in a bag worth more than my modest camcorder itself.

Send the files to BBC and Asia News from Singapore , was watching each channel and they openly asked for footage/submissions taken by locals.
